I got San Andreas for my Dell PC.The game seems to run slightly slow
and is a
bit jerky.

I have an Intel graphics card.Is this whats the problem? Do I need a
NVidia graphics card
for it to work properly?

I have DirectX9 etc and all the other requirements.

Thanks for you help.

When you say "Intel graphics CARD", do you really mean it's a separate card?
Or is it an on-board video processor. Games don't do well with the latter.
In that case, get a separate graphics card.

Overkill. This game runs on a 4 year old ATI card with 64 meg.

The latest jumbo card is great.
But somebody with only Intel on-board graphics is probably on a budget.

Thanks for your help. The Intel card is in built.
I have looked up NVidia stuff on eBay and I can get sorted for about
$50.
When buying the PC I did not realise how important the graphics card
would be.
Cheers!

Depending on which Dell model you have there could be a problem.  My
Dell 2400 has the integrated graphics, and no AGP(?) slot.  I'd have to
get a PCI (not PCI-E) card to upgrade the graphics.  So make very sure
your PC can make use of the card you're buying before you pay for it.

BTW, I play GTA on a gaming laptop with a 128 meg ATI Mobility 9700 card
built in.  Runs very smoothly at 960x600 reolution.  If I tried running
at full screen resolution (1680x1050) the frame rate goes to hell and I
have big problems with objects not appearing until I've run into them,
etc.  Also, it makes the CPU run unacceptably hot.  But the grapphics
are simple enough that 960x600 looks just fine to me.
