Last night I managed to take the final Ballas territory by the beach. Now
they have no territories. I am trying to do the same to the Vagos. I know
what happens later in the game (I won't spoil it if you don't know) but
while I am at this stage will this do anything ir is it just for fun and
money?

just for fun and money, you can't wipe them out completely, they'll
still launch attacks on your hoods, etc afaik.

If you see any of them hanging around your 'hoods, you can still shoot them
and start a gang war on territory you already own. The more times you mop up
the stragglers like this, the less chance there is of them attacking your
hoods.

I thought they only attacked territories that border their own? What happens
when they've no territories left?

I don't think they do attack bordering territories. I was getting Ballas
attacks on the strip south of Denise's house even though there were no
Ballas territories left. I'd previously been ignoring their attacks, when
they did have territories, instead just saving the game. Although I kept the
territory, I get the feeling that my position there was "weakened" (and
that's all it is - a feeling. I've no evidence to support it).

But if you capture any "islands" of territory (ie. Verona beach) then they
never come under attack, as far as I can see.

The first time the stretch by Denise's was attacked it was Ballas, since
then it's been Vagos even before I got rid of the purple wearing fools! Is
it my imagination or are the Vagos richer and better equipped than the
Ballas? I've pick up so much cash from them whereas I got very little from
the Ballas

It's also a good way to improve your weapon skills and collect ammo
for other missions.
