...some friends of mine. (or me mates, as some here would say)

I'm doing this in a slight Don Rickles manner, so spot the humour:

CrashLander
-------------------
Semi-elected group leader, and has a thing about carpets and rugs. Loves
his boys, pokes fun at his missus, and adores his PPL. Thinks Ayers Rock is
nothing more than a pebble in the middle of nowhere. Is a part-time muscle
man that puts Jean-Claude van Damme to shame.

Dallas
---------
Swashbuckler, CL's wingman and local muppet. Pets: cats, snakes and
raccoons. Flys wife crazy! Good dresser (but the Bora Bora picture looks
like a deleted scene from "Weekend at Bernies"). Owns a watch the size of
Nebraska.

ManhattanMan
----------------------
Retired Navy navigator, can still make soft touchdowns (see vid) and
specializes in cocktails and RC Pipers (never at the same time though).
Protested loudly against the sudden take-over of CL and Dallas. Would love
a re-election! He'd love to be running mate, if he could run more than 2
feet at a time.     http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6L_2JpgCJM
(that's Dallas in the right seat)

SnakeEyes
-----------------
Resident joker. Retired police officer (forensics, wasn't it?), hobby
photographer (but what amazing pictures!!). Loves luxurious cruises with
the missus. He had a run-in with a Mexican snake once. Will do a Yosemite
Sam impersonation to catch it next time.

Donbutts
-------------
Local rockstar, recently wed (still can't believe he did that, but he has
good taste), retired police photographer (eventhough not one cop had a
spontaneous enough smile), and he can somehow play golf in NZ. (Hello! It's
upside-down!)

John Ward
----------------
JayDub is this group's version of Sporty Spice. Loves a good walk-about.
Knows how to properly mix Sheilas with XXXX. Will some day become part of a
WW2 museum. Already has the age of a relic. Just needs some cobwebs.

TOCA
----------
Is wildly passionate about Danish public transportation, lives in a country
that makes excellent beer and cookies. His mother looks tough as a biker
chick.

Quilljar
-----------
The one we cling to to hold us together by list. He can match his
adventurous holidays to Dallas'. Quilly invented the term "quilling
around", but I guess that can be expected from our local published author.
Really loves words. And macking speling korektions. (eh, teach?)

Canuck
------------
Ruffian. Keeps a close eye on BC while I'm away. Is not to be taken lightly
and will therefore soon be promoted to Canadian watchdog of the West, as
opposed to Snake's position in the East.

The Old Bloke
---------------------
Is not as old as he makes out to be. Somewhat of a mystery man. Could
probably hold JayDub at the end of a leash, if necessary. Loves a good
Dell. (if only he knew what that meant in Dutch <g>)

MadMike
---------------
Really wears that moniker, our Mike does. Resident nutjob, our own Howling
Mad Mike goes stunt pilot with the craziest machines available to him.
Thinks Viking horns are aphrodisiacs.

Oskar Wagner
----------------------
Slightly retreated, but not gone. Has found a hobby in FS scenery design.
Retired airline captain who does not hesitate to share his wealth of
knowledge with this group. Has his own "pucker up moment" video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZrfA3ay_zg

MikeW
-----------
Almost a Manbird protege. (I said almost, Mike! Do a UFO video first!)
Loves a good joke. Usually at the expense of someone else, and I love it
when that's our resident worm.

Loek
---------
Has a thing for the Dutch Airforce. Really loves it! And flight simulator
gatherings. Has one flaw, a serious ailment....he's Frysian. (sorry gang,
that's an inside joke). I drove through your province for 10 minutes last
week and I was bored the whole 10 minutes. It's a good thing I had some
loud music on to keep me awake!

Katy Pluta
----------------
Our resident computer wizard and MVP. Busy mother. Turned down leading
lady in Pretty Woman because she felt Richard Gere was too tall. She
prefered Tom Cruise or Verne Troyer.

LawnDart
---------------
Loves kayaks, whales and has in the past earned the moniker LawnDart.
So some would say she really has an obsession with phallic shapes.
Not me. I'd never say anything like that.
Could very well be JayDubs counterpart, as she leaves the group for long
periods of time to be one with nature. But considering where she lives...

Ibby
-------
Used to have the coolest view from his office, but that was until the
company that employs me moved to another location. Trains, planes and
automobiles keep me from working. Next to Ibby, the most important Northern
Irishman this week is Darren Clarke.

I really hope I didn't leave anyone out, but I probably did. So sorry for
that.

Talking of worms, you missed him off the list! If you are having trouble

Well Mike, I thought of him when I was writing it up.

Hey, Michael Campbell was here last week for the KLM Open. I saw him play
on Sunday, just like last year. He came in T8 (-7, which is 9 strokes
behind the winner Darren Clarke). Campbell sure is a calm player. Hardly
any emotion. He reminds me of Vijay Singh.

Hi JW... No not quite correct.. My job was mainly photography and
scene of crime examination (incl fingerprints). On my retiring the job
was split in two and Dave handled the latter.

Aw, Marcel! That was awesome! Was very surprised to see my name in

Need to change a couple of things in mune now though. I climbed Ayers
Rock, and found it an absolute awesome experience, so I think much

Also, the missus has been given the boot, and I am now happily

Part time muscle man!?!? Make that full time now! Well, almost!
Remember that mock up Dally made? Well, I'm getting closer to looking
like that every day now! Serious!
Thanks for remembering me!! I knew I could never completely turn my
back on this group, just a few of its more annoying infestations.... I
mean manifestations! ;-)
Thanks for the laugh. I needed it.
For those that are wondering aout me lately, I've been awol due to
marriage split, and death in family, and as of today, possible scary
medical issue. Waiting for the hospital to give me a call to come in
for tests. Have to hate it when the doc asks "Is there a history of
bowel cancer in your family? I think we need to investigate this
further!"
Anyway, we're fingers crossed it's nothing at this stage. I'm quietly
confident.
Didn't mean to hijack the thread, sorry fellas.
Thanks again Marcel. I enjoyed it immensely.

Yeah. Been there, done that. It's hard to keep yourself in shape like that
as you get older. Things become flabby and ugly. Just look at Arnold
Schwarzenegger. He went from "I'll be back" to "Au, my back!"
But by all means....go right ahead.

Yes, there's a white dotted line marking the entire path up, except for the
first section, which has a climbing chain that you use to pull yourself up
with. This is the hardest part of the climb, and I almost thought I wouldn't
make it.

Grrr, Hit send without finishing the post!!
Yes, the scenery here has changed considerably, and as often happens in
these cases, the old scenery continues to make you wonder why you ever went
there in the first place.
Schwarzenegger? Pussy! Girlie Man! ;-) Nah, I'm just doing some simple basic
stuff, general tone etc. Eating heaps better now too, cooking, cleaning,
generally giving men a bad name all over the place! ;-)
Yes, scary times until I'm done with tests and stuff. The boys don't know
about the health thing, they are too young to understand. They are handling
the separation just fine. Never even mention it except to ask how many
sleeps until they come back to my place! lol. And of course, they report
back to their mother everything that happens with me and my new lady friend.
lol.
Got a call from the ex wife yesterday, and in conversation she goes: "You
know what Lincoln said as soon as you dropped him off on Monday morning?
Daddy slept with Kim!!"
LMAO!! That's my boy!!
Truth is more like mummy pinned young Lincoln against the wall and asked
where daddy slept on the weekend. Lmao. Gotta love it.

Ahhhh, no.  Ex-Navy radar operator when air borne, radar tech when on the
ground/water, but not a navigator - you're thinking of Quilly there.

No.  Varmit is in the back seat with my video camera, seeing as how he only
had a student ticket at the time, and my medical is forty years out of date,
Josh, Varmit's CFI was in the right seat.

But thanks for the honorable (?) mention...  d:->))

Hi Studmuffin,

We.ve got the Riverfire event this weekend, where the two F-111s do
their "dump and burn"at the end of my street.

Instead of watching it on the river bank, this year I'm going in to the
Queensland Maritime Museum, partly because the firecracker barges are right
there, and partly to meet George Buckingham, who was in the Z Special Forces
in WWII,
and his mate, John Mackay, who was also in the Z Special Forces.

John is a volunteer at the MacArthur Museum, and I have done many days
on duty with him there - we get on really well, but he's never mentioned to
me that he was part of the Z Force~~ Geezes......

He was due to go on the Krait raid, but had been shot in the leg in
Borneo, and, despite trying his best, he couldn't recover in time to go on
the raid......

Should be one hell of a BBQ on Saturday, mate!! :-)))

Regards,
John Ward
