Hope some of you enjoy it. :-)
Signature MikeW Shrewsbury, UK. If flying is so safe, why do they call the airport the "terminal"?
Quilljar - 26 Aug 2008 13:48 GMT I enjoyed it Mike , but... it did take a long time to get to the sunny bit! Just like RL I suppose!!

:-) Thanks Quilly.
Signature MikeW Shrewsbury, UK. Flying is hours of boredom, punctuated by moments of stark terror.
SnakeEyes - 26 Aug 2008 14:55 GMT > Dedicated to those of you who have been complaining about the lousy > weather recently. :-) When I see a new video posted by MikeW, I know it's going to be a good day.
I began to smile when it began and it the smile stayed until the very end. The dream of a 'winter escape' is usually on the minds of Canadians and this video illustrates it perfectly. In fact, simulating this winter escape with FS is what I do each year for about 7 months while the snow is accumulating outside my window.
The aircraft and music are wonderful, and I've downloaded it for future viewing, even though the Qantas 747 livery colours challenged my senses.
Oh yes, the little Grumman Goose....you were too too clever shooting the landing on the ground from a distance, but your water landing was.....mmmmmmmm........splashy : ) It's a tough little plane to land but the flying makes it worth it.
Once again, many thanks for the smiles.
Arthur

Actually the runway landing wasn't too bad, only one bounce and no sparks. To get both aircraft in shot, I had to use the Yellow Goose's spot camera view, that's what made the other Goose seem far away.
Here is a tip for you Arthur. When I first attempted to land the Goose on solid ground all I got was loads of sparks, and no matter how many times I tried, I couldn't make a smooth landing. So what I did was to use instant playback to view the landings from outside the aircraft. Do that mate, and you will see that the Goose does not have a 'normal' landing configuration, you have to sorta try and land on all three wheels at the same time. As for the water landing.....well it was at the end of the video and I was getting tired.
One outstanding quality I found with the Goose, its the finest aircraft I've found for formation flying, truly superb.

Iain Smith - 26 Aug 2008 20:22 GMT > Dedicated to those of you who have been complaining about the lousy > weather recently. :-) Great video mike, as usual and music right from my era, so I'm going to be picky now. I could only see one thing wrong and that's in the credits where you made a very common error. It's Cliff Richard - no 's' on the end! :-)

There were a couple more mistakes as well! For instance, did you not notice the 'black' wings on some of the 747's in the first part of the video? :-)
Also, when the Goose (s) took off, I forgot to lower the floats!!!!
Thanks for your comments Iain, glad you enjoyed it, despite the errors.

John Ward - 28 Aug 2008 01:55 GMT Hi MikeW,
I've just been watching all your videos again, and I've got to say, you've done some stunning stuff, mate!
Lucky us.
That Vulcans and Pipes was an absolute corker!
Did you happen to see the initial flight of the restored Vulcan?
Regards, John Ward

What did you think of that new site, Vimeno, that I also used for you to download the video? (The second link). I think the quality is quite good, certainly a lot better than You Tube, don't you think?

John Ward - 01 Sep 2008 08:19 GMT Hi MikeW,
Sorry about the delay in responding, mate - yes, it gets my vote, for sure.
Easy to download, pretty good quality (better than before), and, this way, we can all get to keep your brilliant videos, if we choose/want to.
I sure do, particularly because I can still remember your very first one, which I thought was a pearler.
For some reason, I found myself feeling a tad overwhelmed in the not too distant past.
I replayed your video re my birthday, and voila, mind cleared again.
Thanks, mate.
Regards, John Ward
