I just finished Final Fantasy X and I gotta say that I liked it. It is
the second Final Fantasy installment I've played (Final Fantasy VIII
being the first) and I can't decide which one I liked better. Perhaps
if I think more about FFX's story I can reach a conclusion. Before I
discuss some more perhaps I'll leave a spoiler space.

I found that the levelling up of characters was quite slow. It was
only near the end in the Omega Ruins and Inside Sin where you really
get a good and fast way of levelling up. I did like the sphere grid
because you could customise your characters, but it did get annoying
when everyone in the party needed to use their AP (once I had about 60
AP for each charcter). At the start of the game I felt out-classed by
the fiends, but towards the end with quite a lot of leveling up the
fiends were easy to eliminate (as well as the bosses).

One thing I noticed in Final Fantasy X is that Ultima Weapon and Omega
were VERY easy to defeat, but in Final Fantasy VIII I had a hard time
with Ultima and never was able to beat Omega (although I forgot to
junction majic to strike which may probably could have helped). The
dark Aeons were quite hard in FFX, and the best way for beating them
was by using Yojimbo and hope he used Zanzamato (pardon the spelling).
I only ended up defeating Dark Valfor, Ifrit and Shiva, I couldn't be
bothered with the rest.

I was impressed by the strength the chacters could attack with
(exceeding 9999 damage point) which I don't think could happen in
FFVIII only with the GF Eden.
I played FFVIII in a pretty strange way though. I basically relied on
GFs throughout the game because it seemed the characters attack powers
were too weak. When Squall done his Lionheart Overdrive he never done
9999 HP damage for me like some people said he does. is this because I
had majic junctioned to defense rather than attack?

Anyway I thought the characters were pretty good and the voice actors
did help bring the characters to life despite how bad some people
think the voices were. I liked the story and the music was pretty good
which suited the themes throughout the game well. My favourite was 'To
Zanarkand'. It matches the depressing and emotional state of the
characters at that point in the game. I also like the complexity of
the story and how different thing were slowly revealed to you. The
news about Tidus being just a dream was quite surprising and sad to a
certain degree. What I thought though was that because Tidus went to
Spira somehow through Sin that he bacame more than a dream (at least
thats what I understood when the fayth explained it). Still he vanish
when Yu Yevon was destroyed (quite easily by one of Kimahri's Nova
overdrives might I add) so he was still just a dream which must have
been quite depressing for him to know.
What do you people make of the end of the game when Tidus swims
through the water (looking quite happy), do you think he still exists
perhaps through the toughts of his friends or do you think it's just a
memory of someone? I think the end was quite sad (with Tidus going and
all just when he was getting onto Yuna), but it was cool and I liked
it. FFVIII's ending on the other hand was quite happy on the other
hand with Squall ending up with Rinoa, but the ending of FFX does have
a good impact on you becuase of Tidus leaving.

I'd like to hear any other discussions or extra thoughts.

Yes. You can beat VIII very easily using nothing but Renzokuken the entire game
if you have the right magic junctioned to strength. I always go right to the
beach in Balamb to start the game to get fish fins to refine into water. Once
Ifrit is aquired that gives Squall 5x more strength, I go from Water, to Quake,
to Tornado, to Holy to Ultima. Right now I'm on disc 3, Squall is level 11-
strength 124. Once I have the 100 Ultimas he should be at 255. There hasn't
been a need to sacrifice defense all together either. All his stats are looking
pretty good.
