Hi,

I recently got my copy after a bit of an ordeal and I've just finished the
1st chapter. I was a bit alarmed to find it only took 4 hrs, I was hoping
for a bit more. Then I had a look at a walkthrough and found that theres
stuff to do in each town for each chapter.
So my question is, what did you people do when you first played it? Go to
only the places for the storyline and then 2nd time go for a full
walkthrough? Or try to do everything on the first time?

I went everywhere the first time through.  Then the second time through I
started in Luca and walked all the way to Zanarkand for the check of it (and
did it all again).  Anyway, there is a New Game + option so speeding through
like you're doing won't be a problem.  I don't think you can pick up most of
the storylines after chapter 1.  Maybe Bikanel.

I heard Ramen Junkie, a noted fan of the Tuesday Morning Booker, dropped
this piece of knowledge on 2/21/04 4:37 PM:

I, like a dope, followed straight along the storyline until the game got too
hard for me.  Then, thanks to the good folks here, I realized I could go
anywhere at any chapter and find something to do.  I did almost absolutely
nothing in the Calm Lands, mini games are boring to me.  I finished the game
at around 58% (check back through the archives)... so there's PLENTY more
for me to do.  Know that if you stay on the same storyline, there's a lot of
holes in the story, which is kinda ironic.

I'm doing everything the first time, but the game still seems to be
speeding along, I've just finished Chapter 2, (what Bahumut doing
around???) I'm at about level 26 - 27, and i've been playing for about
13 hours and the game is 35 - 36% complete I think. I've found the
game very easy, not been killed once (been close a couple of times).
Loving the Special Dressspheres, your almost invincible at this stage
of the game, the bosses haven't got a chance, I like Rikku's the most.
Mastered White mage with Yuna, Mastered Warrior with Paine and Rikku,
just got Dark Knight so i'll be moving onto that.
Just got an Item called Bloodlust, it vastly increases your strength
but also casts Beserk and poison on whoever has it equiped, I'm lovin
it on paine she's kickin a.s, I've just had here and rikku as warrior
most of the game chaining attacks and then contiually casting Pray
with Yuna.
I've now moved Yuna on Songstress as this is pretty usefull.

13 hours for 35%? That seems pretty short. I remember with FFX I clocked up
about 130hrs one of the times I played it.. and that was without fighting
any of the Dark Aeons.
Seems like this is only a 40 hr game :(

Does seem to be going a little to fast, won't be impressed if it's
that short,
I also have a FFX game of about 130hrs long but every little thing is
done including penance.

Now at about 17-18 hours, game 48% complete, chapter 3, just got the
beserker dress sphere after the mission at the macalania travel
agency.
Was attempting to do that calibration task in the thunder plains last
night.
Man that is hard, managed to do Eight of the towers but i'm now stuck
on the last one (Yuna's backwards memory test) and Rikku's last one
(this one really pisses me off, if you get one wrong by pressing to
late, the next one will be wrong also so you get two misses with it
going so fast)
I gave up in the end after a few failed attempts.
I'm just off to take the tourists around the cavern of the stolen
fayth now, then I'm gona spend a couple of hours mastering Dark knight
and Beserker dress spheres.
Found a good way to level up Dark knight really fast, Get into a fight
and contiunally use Demi, everytime you use it ur AP goes up, when
demi stops working cure the fiend and repeat, you will have it
mastered in no time.
Also Won the sphere break competition in Luca, got that lady luck
dress sphere gona have a look at what that can do tonight see if it's
any good.
