Lately I've been getting a bunch of messages in my inbox that either
can't be "decoded properly" or "mail transaction failed, partial message
is available".

There's always a zip attachment that contains some file I can't open.
Maybe it's cuz I'm on a Mac or something, although I'm curious as to
what kind of virus or whatever is contained within it.

Anyone encounter this before?

Dan.

It's some sort of virus. "MyDoom" or some crap. I haven't seen a single
one. I'm not sure if that's due to most of my friends having webmail
accounts rather than "real" e-mail or whether my ISP's much-ballyhooed
spam/virus mail filtering actually works. I suspect it's the former -- I
get about 10 spam messages a day. [Thanks, Usenet!]

I got one of those emails at my real address, I think.  Just one,
though.

attachment)

It's the latest variation of the MyDoom virus.  They try to trick you into
thinking the attachment contains an important e-mail message or a message from
one of your friends, so when you open/download the attachment you get sick.
