No, because most of us are smart enough not to use our real e-mail addresses.

I'm not. It's okay though, because it's just my school account, which can
take quite a pounding before it fills up.

Unfortunately, news.individual.net requires you to use a valid
e-mail address.

No problem. I wouldn't have known it myself if I hadn't signed
up with them.

Post using chrizizhere@hotmail.commmms or some crap. So things won't pick
it up. Also if you made it just for newsgroup posting who cares. People
probably won't sent you direct email anyway.
On a related note though, SPAM is becoming worse and worse by the day at
epidemic proportions. I mean does this sh.t actually work to get traffic?

A few days ago the Swen virus suddenly upsurged for no apparent
reason, which is why people now have 300 emails a day in their boxes
with subjects like "Latest Net Security Patch" and "Internet Update
Kit."

I haven't heard about the virus myself, but Spam has definately increased in
the past 2-3 weeks to epidemic levels. Luckily I have separate accounts for
personal stuff and newsgroups.

Are the only people getting spammed like that the ones with the virus?

You don't have to _have_ the virus to get spammed by it.
