hi all....

Here I have this Game, Finally I can play it.

Ps2, I have.

I get my character up into  the
Palace of Rabanastre, at the beginning of the game, where I have to
use the signet stone to find the secret entrance to the treasure room,
and after this event I will climb the stairs
to trigger a cut scene for the next part.
I climb and climb those stairs and when the video begins, I see the
doors and hear the footsteps
but the video appears to freeze and then I hear only the footsteps
apparently forever and forever.
I tried, once, for ten minutes I let the stuck FMV sit there, and I
heard ten minutes of footsteps.

I had two saves, i always save twice at the end of the evening, thus I
had two saves to work with, and each of the saves gave to me the same
result.

I cannot stop this even by opening the cover of the ps2 and closing it
again.

I seem not to find any such problems reported.

IF I cannot get by this, my game is Over.  period.

can anyone help?

thanks...freestone

Have you tried a different PS2?  I never had a problem with freezing when I
played the game so I am unsure of what could be the problem.

well...

actually the Simplest answer is the One that works, I have had such
good fortune with used game disks that I forgot to have the clerk look
at the disk.   NOW I look at the disk and see what looks to be as if
this previous owner had used this disk to buff his waxed car with,
after he played it!!    pits and slashes all over.
The good guy at gamestop replaced it for me, and now the game
played very well beyond that Point of crashing, and now I am in the
prison below that castle.   An awesome game, beyond that point, I am
glad that I stuck with this to solve the problem!

moral too:   Find a good clerk and get to know him well, in your
favorite game store!

There's obviously a flaw in your game. Take it back and get a new one.
It'll be worth the headache of having to return it,

Well, in the good ole days, you could return the disc to the store, but now
you have to contact Sony, and jump through all their hoops... good luck, I
suggest switching to God of War II

Thats right!  I tried returning a game because I had thought it was one of
the ones that was backwards compat with the 360 and it wasn't.  Because I
had opened it Fred Meyers wouldn't take, a friend bought it from me for the
store price so all was well.
