As much as I liked FF7, FF8 is pissing me off. I can't figure out the magic
system, I just need to kick the T-rex's butt in the schoool.

I've had redundant tutorials, about how I am suppose to juntion xyz with
123 and then its all easy. Any good tips ojn how to just sh.t this thing? I
miss just sticking materia on my sword and going out. I can't figure out
how to use the f'ing magic/junction system. Call me stupid.

OK so lesson learned. Ask quesetions an yee shall receieve. I figure it out
about 5 minutes later. I was just missing the "walk north" part of a room
to trigger an action.

But seriously, the magic system in FF VIII is ticking me off.

oh.... some addit'nal info. lessen your use of magics during battle, use
physical attacks more often or your ever friendly GF's. using elemental
magics in your attack  or in defense junction enables your player/s to have
addit'nal effects on your opponents, either increase your damage inflicted or
lessen even absorb or nullify opponent's attack.........

When I played it the second time through I just ignored the
low-and-mid-level elemental spells (Fire, Fira, Thunder, Thundera, etc)
altogether -- too much of a time waster. Early on I was able to Draw
Tornado from some aerial creature so I drew 100 of them, gave them all
to Squall and Junctioned it to his Strength. That alone made him a
powerhouse. Combined with Darkside, he decimated everything easily, and
the other party member were just there to heal him

I like to eschew Drawing altogether in favour of the magic refinement
abilities. On just about any beach, including the one just outside
Garden, you can fight those fish, who drop Fish Scales, one refines to
20 Water.

VIII is a game where if you manage to get good magic early, the bosses
are pathetically easy. Disk 1 Seifer fell in one hit, Edea in three.

the magic and junction system in FF8 really is confusing especially for a
newbee even in some oldies.
more like the usage of magic is more focused in upgrading your stats, meaning
the higher the quantity of a magic junctioned to your character the higher
the stats.... some spoiler, the higher your level the stronger your opponent
will be, the stronger magics you can draw from opponent, even the rarest of
items you can collect to upgrade your arsenals....... dont forget to play
cards too, you'll get hooked to it once you try it.... goodluck!
