It was an interesting experience, especially considering they flew me
all the way from Toronto to Seattle, put me up in a hotel for three
nights and paid for all of my food and transportation.
The interviews went well, but it seems unlikely I'll get the job, just
on account of the huge amount of competition generated as a result of
the economy being the way it is, and the extremely few positions they
have open. Plus it's Microsoft, and they seem content to foot the bill
to fly out an order of magnitude more people than they are prepared to
hire.
So even if I finish 3rd out of, say, 50 people, it doesn't make a whit
of difference if they're only hiring one candidate.
<sigh> Oh well, at least I got to see the west coast.
Dan.

They have Canadian offices in Toronto, but it's apparently far less
interesting.
