Just got FF7 for the PC.  I'm running Windows XP.  When I try and
install, it just exits out of the installation screen and does nothing.
Seems like there are other issues people have with this game, but I
can't find an answer to my problem.  Any help is much appreciated!!!

Yep. I recently bought FF7 PC version, too. (I have Windows XP).
There's a lot of patches in existence that should make it half-way
playable, if not fully. You're going to need to do a google search to
find'em, though. Maybe ff7-universe.net has some. (I don't know if
that's the correct URL.) Sorry I can't be more helpful than that.

There is an updated patch for Windows XP at

Though I'm not sure if that patch is for when it's already installed. :-S
