If someone you love dies, wouldn't you want to bring them back if it was
possible?

I don't know whether to reply to this post by saying "..." or by saying
"Haven't you ever read the Monkey's Paw?"

(There I said both)

I meant the short story...  but both have the same "moral".

(I only read the story because of the Simpsons ep...)

They actually did it right but no-one noticed.  Aeris didn't actually
come back, it was just a kind of proper farewell(ghost).  I thought
she'd come back too but with Zack there it looked so obvious that
they(writers) just wanted all ff7 characters to say farewell without
all those lousy flashbacks.

pfffft.... never saw no ghosts, never believed the rumours so never
tried... never wanted aeris back really either... i still think cloud
would have been better off turning queer!

you can see her in the church in Midgar. But if you move forward of the very
entrance (like the average person probably WOULD), she vanishes.

I guess she can't come back on The Planet. Weren't/Aren't the Cetra
interplanetary travellers? So maybe she'd be able to go do a different
world. Like Earth. Mind you I can't see her liking the megastar status
she'd have if she did.

:o

No he wouldn't. Dressing as a woman on occassion does not make a man gay.
Come to think of it, IIRC Cloud still has the stuff.

Besides I though Barret was supposed to be. Him and Nanaki?

In the PC version she vanishes within a moment, regardless of whether or
not you move upon entering the church.

That SOMETIMES happens in the PS version, it seems slightly random.

After what happened to him in the hot-tub in the Honeybee Manor, I'd say
Cloud's fairly sexually... unconstrained
Either that, or he really takes the concept of "taking one for the team" to
a new level

LOL!

Probably a bit of both I reckon. Boring stuff, dangerous stuff, [unusual
stuff], anything.

So glad she didn't... it would've been bad enough if she'd come back in the
game itself, but to retroactively do it 9 years later would be way worse.

For any popular story, there is going to be a lot of people who like
it despite not paying any attention to certain parts of it.

I guess so.

It just seems to me that if you love FF7 so much, why would you want to
invalidate one of the things that made it so emotionally impactful?

You're not thinking about it. Aeris died so Cloud got with Tifa. Then should
Aeris revive, she's not going to be with Cloud. Which for those who love
Aeris is A Good Thing, but if you're after Tifa, forget it, she's with
Cloud.

Working with hyperbolic trig functions is as much fun as being coshed on the
head.
