Politicians are getting SO bad, in general, that the "smart" people
just gave up going to the polls.

Take it FWIW.

If you'll take a look at the grammar employed by those on the net who
support Bush, I think you'll have your answer.

See, that's what makes you stupid. You think grammar counts for
something in the real world, therefore you'll vote for the most
eloquent speaker rather than the person that's more suited to the job.

It's not the grammar.

It's the ability to communicate an idea.

That's what grammar is all about.

When a dolt like Bush,Jr speaks you
can tell immediately that he cannot
communicate in a manner that is understandable.

Many people lacking formal education
still use correct grammar even though they
don't know the rules.

There is no Jr. behind the man's name. There is no Sr. behind his dad's
name.
That is a common stupid mistake made by libs.

I read about it a long time ago.
He said it in his own words.
He hated it and wouldn't use Junior.

You are free to avoid it's use.
I will use it.

Junior he was, junior he is, in every way.

An incompetent loser that has caused serious damage to America.
It will take years for the next president, be he or she Democrat or
Republican, to repair the damage.

Only 37-38% of Americans still support him.
Why are you still supporting a loser?

Many good things he has done but there is a LOT that I bitch at him for.
Mainly the border situation. He pissed me off kowtowing to vincente fox and
his band of thieves when he was gov. here in Texas. He also plays too much
footsy with the likes of Ted Kennedy. There are many polls and we can all
choose the ones we like most.
Any how, go on if you like. This is a football forum and I'd rather talk
football here than politics. All politicians piss me off anyway. LOL! Time
to let farmers and the like run things. Lawyers and their ilk have f.cked
things up bad enough. hahaha!
He was referring to family calling him junior. That is what he hated. He was
never NAMED Jr.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suffix_(name)
Sons with a different middle name or initial are not called junior. An
example is Ronald P. Reagan, the son of the late U.S. president, who
is not titled junior because his middle name, Prescott, differs from
his late father’s middle name, which was Wilson. This notwithstanding,
a son may sometimes be called junior even if he is not titled as such,
because ‘Junior’ is a popular familial nickname in the United States.
One instance of this is George W. Bush, who is nicknamed Junior by his
family. Interestingly, the son of actor Lon Chaney, was billed by
Hollywood as Lon Chaney, Jr. to capitalize on his father’s success,
even though he had an entirely different birth name.

What an idiot. Picking on someone who calls him Bush Jr. is like picking on
your buddy for calling his wife the "old lady" if she's younger than him.
Totally moronic is the term that comes to mind.

So true.  Not to mention that many other presidents have cheated and are

Good strawman argument.

Anyways, there's nothing wrong with what he did.  He's human after all, and
it's how he does his job, not how he runs his personal life.  His personal
life should be none of the public's buisness.

No it's not.

It's a easy way to distinguish between the two, as opposed to spelling
out their first names and middle initials.

Anyone with half a brain would have figured that one out.

Seems to me like people voted for Bush because he _wasn't_ the most
eloquent speaker, and they didn't really care whether or not he was
suited to the job.

So I guess Democrats think that good grammar counts for something, and
Republicans think that bad grammar counts for something.  At least the
Democrats' position on this makes a bit of sense.

If you mean that he doesn't get up on the stage and scream like a

got thrown over a fence and some pictures of him fraternizing with the

This is one college teacher who believes there ARE wrong answers and
that the nuts and bolts of the language should be mastered.

And it's usually the Republican kids with the W buttons on their

our high standards.  But usually because of higher skepticism toward
educational types, a skepticism I don't necessarily find ill-founded.

But the phenomenon of the Righty whining about my insistence they study
