Finally after five years of near-constant playing I have completed
Final Fantasy Mystic Quest! Go me! Now I just need a recommendation
for a new game to play. I have a NES, Super NES, and a Game Gear. I am
thinking of buying Ogre Battle. Any suggestions?

For the SNES?
FF2
FF3
Secret of Mana
Chrono Trigger
Any of them are recommended if you haven't already played it.
(FF2, FF3 and CT are also available on PlayStation as FF4, FF6 and, uh,
CT as part of the compilations "FF Anthology" and "FF Chronicles". If
you want to play FF3/FF6, I highly recommend the cartridge over the PS
version.)
Of course, I'd also suggest investing $10 (or however much it must cost
to get one) in the original Game Boy and getting yourself a copy of FF
Legend 2.
Dan.

It took you five years to beat Mystic Quest? There's a game I've heard
about called "Tetris" that might be for you... :P

Well, if a game of the quality of Mystic Quest could hold your attention so
long, I'd go with Secret of Evermore!

Oh yeah, and I should also suggest "Brain Lord"

Mystic Quest was a much better attention-holding game than SoE, IMO.
(In fact, MQ was better than SoE in most respects, IMO. But I hold SoE
in very low regard.)

That's because Evermore sucks.

Among the other suggestions, I'll say Ogre Battle isn't a bad game, if you
are into the tactical army moving thing, and it does have an insane
replayability factor to it (there are like, a few trillion things that can
affect the game for you).

The hell? You take ye ole' time machine to get here?
P.S. Go for Secret of Mana and Chrono Trigger, as Dan recommended.
