Bought the triple(1,2&Tactics) for about 350 NOK. Comes home, pops 1 in the
slot, and gets told it can't install on my Windows system. As that
'moby'-link elsewhere in this group tells me it was released in 97(along
with BG2 o.a., apparently), and meant for the windows platform, this
is...beyond words. I couldn't believe the message for the first half minute
after it popped up on the screen...just sat staring at it.
What? did they pop the 1 in just to taunt us to buy the other two? I have no
interest in them!!!

PLEASE tell me there's a way for me to enjoy the original on my(far as I
know) non-DOS, Win98 system. PLEASE!!!

The Elfseeker, seriously considering a namechange to
'win98patchforfallout1-seeker'...

well you should at least have a command prompt, you can install it from
there I think... Start > Run > "cmd" should open a prompt. but if you have
no experience with dos or similarly old fashioned prompt style that could be
the worst solution...
so instead you can try installing manually... it's fairly straight
forward...
goto the following faq and scroll down to "How can I install to winnt?"
http://www.interplay.com/fallout/faq.html
The procedure is the same no matter what OS you're using so you can skip the
NT specific part...

others seem to have luck installing with win95 compatibility mode on, never
tried that...

good luck.
