Graphics ? Bit outdated, but still not bad at all. Didn't play Baldur's Gate
or NWN, so can't compare. Morrowind is an entirely different beast, as it's
3D and Fallout is isometric.

Fallout 2 can be played without knowing 1 no problem. You'll find some
references to 1 if you play it before, but you won't miss anything essantial
if you don't. Gameplay time is a lot. No idea how long I played, but with
the insane amount of side quests, it can take ages. You can of course focus
on the main quest, but that'll cost you much of the fun.

Combat is turn based.

you'll love it!

FO is brown and grey. it's part of the atmosphere. no fancy pancy magic pink
fireballs, glowing elves or knights in shiny armor+2 here my friend. and
you'll love it.

actually at first I kinda thought the graphics blew... in fact at first I
thought the game blew... but then after I finally got out of that rat cave
after my 11th restart and set first foot in shady sands - I was bought...
of course that was some years ago... graphics are somewhat dated now... I
don't wanna imagine what it looks like on a 21" monitor with the fixed
640*480 resolution.... but... it's not bad. compared to BG? hmm... not
really worse but not really comparable either... I prefer fallouts
graphics - but through its style, not through its quality.

and you should at least make an attempt to get fo1 first even though it's
not dead necessary. Many although non-important references you can only
appreciate and hence get the whole experience if you have played fo1 first.
It's easy to get in europe... being reprinted like never before.
