Yeah, this was a beta screenshot. The models were all in-game models - viewing them at the proper resolution would get better results.
I'm a bit sad (beyond the standard over it's not-existence) because this would've had multiplayer. I don't know how well it would've worked, but I'm sure it would've gone over nicely in the household here.

I believe that JE et al the Dev's were able to sell the point of how their work would have been different. The new features and treatments would be attractive to all and challenge the veteran FO gamers.
I could not follow the extensive threads at the Interplay forums. I sampled what was covered by NMA and DAC. The presence of the dev's there was positive and turned the too habitual negative first impulses into ""what if"".
Thanks for the pic. When I tried to sample it before there ws too much web activity to be stable on a phone link.

I just don't enjoy multiplayer CRPGs the way I enjoy, say, multiplayer Warcraft III.

Yes, I think that the developers did a great job of turning around a lot of the negativity that boiled over when FOBOS was announced. The Van Buren threads were *perfect* for the time.
> Thanks for the pic. When I tried to sample it before there ws too much > web activity to be stable on a phone link. Oops. I know you read NMA (I recognize your name from the forums there), so I'm sure you'll be up to date as things develop. :)

So everything looks low quality etc... It's my guess anyway.

It's probably rendered in alpha version of FO3 engine.

If you read up on the old news you'll notice JE Sawyer talked about how their 3d engine looks so smooth "that people often thinks it's 2d"... In fact just now you can see some screenshots of how it looks on NMA... you can see it isn't perfect 2d isometry and still looks really good. Not perfect, but quite close. I must admit that the 3d rave I was on about some while ago I'm (almost) gonna have to eat now. It doesn't look too bad at all. :) *starts drooling for a level editor*

But i think if thats the graphics for the game, its gona be a realy good one (if there is ever gona be a fo3), if you think that you would see the characters like in FoT:bos, or Fo1 and 2, much detail will require heavy computers (I only have a PIII 450, but will buy a new one the moment Fo3 hits the stores). And you don't have to see only the graphics, but the storyline is much more important, i think.

Sadly, it will probably never see the light of day.
