I think that this brings up an excellent question in regard to the
setting of FO3. Stephan King writes about his book "The Stand", that
the bomb that goes off half-way through the book was his way of
telling the characters that a return to technology and exploitation is
not the way to go. The fallout world has begun to return to form in
the first two games. I have heard it said that the 3rd fallout will
continue further in the future. Will we not eventually reach a point
in which the cities are just a microcosm of the world before the
world? Another war will be inevitable.

My personal opinion is that the PC's role this time should be much
more meaningful. I think he should be entrusted with causing a radical
change in the political/power struggle in the world. Maybe he can
visit various revolutionary factions for ideas. But he has to avoid
the reoccurrence of another world war. Just an idea.

He's already destroyed the most powerful and dangerous factions in the
wastelands twice.

War is good. f.ck all this rebuilding sh.t I want some anarchy so that
no one notices me slaughtering townsfolk.

Can I still have a scrappy old dog as an NPC while I go to visit these people? I
miss Dogmeat.
