Well, "Fallout" means two things...
One is Fallout as the radioactive debris of a nuclear explosion.
The other is the Fallout of, in this case, the war. It's the results. The
effects.
I believe the game is as much given it's name on the first meaning as on the
other. In fact, the game is very much about what the war resulted in, rather
than about the war itself or the radioactives following. That time is infact
pretty much over even in the first game, despite the radioactives still
around.
So in this respect... The shortage of electricty in the US has caused a mild
apocalyptic condition. No where near as harsh as the game of course, but
about the closest (in this scale) you'll see in any western country I'd dare
say.
I almost sound interlectual don't I. I'm so proud.
