After a year off of EQ, I am going to return because basically, all the
other games online bore me. I have all the way up through Planes of Power.
What boxed version would I buy to get the whole package so I can avoid a two
day download ?
Richard Lawson - 26 Dec 2003 20:33 GMT
Man, and I just wrote about you and the days you came here from FANG to bomb
the newsgroup.

Read your goodbye over there a few days ago, only to see you coming back
here.  =(

Be sure to insult everyone a few times, mkay?

LoY and LDoN are both available via download.  You can buy them
individually, of course, on CD-ROM.  The last compilation was EverQuest
Gold, which contained everything through PoP, which you already have.

Thanks !!

Went ahead and got Evolution so that I didn't have to D/L all the patches. I
did read of a new expansion Dungeons of Norrath, but they didn't have it.
That's K, I'll need the time to get reaquainted with EQ anyway.

As far as FA, I tried it for 3 months. It was just as boring as when I left
it.

No insults this time, even bashing self proclaimed Gods get's old after a
while. I am sure people like CryingFreeman, Lokari, and of course DarkTyger
will send plenty my way.

I need the laughs :-)

Thanks again for the info.

Act like a civilized, intelligent, semi-mature human being, and you
won't have to worry about such things. You have a history here, so I'm
sure you'll understand getting less slack, right?

This is all Richard's fault.

Its Betelgeuse actually (after the star... armpit of the constellation
Orion if I recall right). I hear 'Candyman' works pretty neat too :)

<snip>

You know, I have heard this about so many other online
games...especially Star Wars Galaxies.  Just about all my RL friends
quit Everquest in favor of Star Wars Galaxies and they all cancelled
their accounts for SWG in less than two months because they game is
supposedly boring.  I was told that it was cool running around
Tatooine and other planets to see the sights that Star Wars made
famous (or infamous).  Outside of that, it's supposedly boring.
Apparently it's easy to get to a top level in a particular trade.

It seems that Dark Ages of Camelot has a small following.  As a matter
of fact, it sounds like DAoC is a much better game than SWG.  I used
to read the SWG site all the time to see the updates and screen shots
and I got the impression that SWG was going to be the be all end all
of online games.

It seems that Everquest is often imitated but never duplicated.

250k subscribers isn't a "small following".

You are right.  I didn't know.  I remember when it first came out I
didn't think it would have that kind of success.

Keep in mind I said "it seems".  My statement was not definitive.
