What hardware spec can I get by with in EQ2?

I ran TOTI then my free month on a bargain bin copy of EQ2 but I got
terrible frame rates and it was nearly unplayable. Think I only survived
because I played a conjurer and my pet did most of the fighting.

I don't mind playing at 1024*768 and Very High Performance if only I get a
frame rate where I can actually control what I am doing.

I have a Dell as follows
2.8GHz P4 with HT
1GB RAM
Intel 910GL SMA Graphics.

The obvious culprit is the graphics, but I can't afford to spend very much.
If I get say a 7300GS with 128 or 256MB of onboard memory will that make
enough difference? .Or what specs would I need to just about get by?

[I live in the UK - in case you want to recommend your favourite cheap
hardware store :-)]

Instead of buying a 7300GS i would try and get a 6600 second hand, as you
can probably get them for about the same price and the benchmarks ive seen
for doom3/farcry show it to be about 3-6 times faster.  I havent played EQ2
for over a year, but there should be the possibilty to join the free isle to
play before you purchase another month (if you do decide to get the graphics
card), at least you get to test it out first.

LOL Thanks, but buying the card is the expensive bit.

6600's on Ebay UK seem to be about half again the price of new 7300's. On
bang for buck that's probably more than fair but I'm a bit risk averse about
S/H hardware.

Thanks anyway
