MySuperSales (Scam?) Does a bear sh*t in the woods?

lightotim@hotmail.com - 09 Dec 2005 05:09 GMT I let my son order gold for the World of Warcraft game from Yantis/MySuperSales.Com. I figured it was a cheap way to teach him about scam artists on the internet. As I expected after sending these scammers a money order he received ***nothing***. My son has had several chat sessions with the people from MySuperSales.com however, they spew nothing but lame excuse after lame excuse as to why he hasn't been sent his merchandise. Word of caution for anyone thinking they can do business with this clown. Just my 2 cents...

Which is interesting, because thousands of people buy stuff from them all the time--not that I'm endorsing them, not in the least. However, fact is, even as much as many people frown on Yantis' activities, they aren't scam artists. Why would they do that when they can make a forture legitimately? That's like saying the gambling in Vegas is fixed. Sounds to me more like you're trying to just spread sh.t about them, which is just as pathetic as being a scam artist. You figured it was a cheap way to let your son learn a lesson? You sound more like a f.cking idiot to me, than anything else...
MySuperSales Fan - 09 Dec 2005 07:07 GMT >I let my son order gold for the World of Warcraft game from >(MySuperSales). I figured it was a cheap way to teach him >about scam artists on the internet. Perhaps your funding didn't fly? Or maybe you didn't thoroughly read and comprehend the terms of a sale before clicking, "Submit." After all, you were prejudiced towards a negative experience, so why take any steps that a reasonable person would take to ensure a positive experience.
Or maybe you're one of those people that think their (comparatively small) purchase somehow entitles them to a place in line ahead of those who have been waiting for assistance with their (much larger) purchases.
Whatever.
I've been buying from MySuperSales for years and I've never had any trouble. As recently as last week I purchased several hundred thousand PP in EQL to bulk up my game toons, traders and barter buyers. Their deliveries have always been very quick, and the communication excellent.

Real life sales hurt MMORPG's. You're a parasite. Just go away.

They actually enhance the host's quality of life. Sometimes the relationship is so extreme that without the parasites, the host dies (I'm thinking of the bacterium in your digestive tract).
I'm not suggesting that I'm Lanys T'Vyl's right-hand Inkie, or the enabling factor in Grummus' diet, or a helpful lump on Mother Tunare's after-lunch turd, or any other such nonsense.
But I do happen to contribute so much to the success of my fellow players with my activities outside of the Bazaar, that my alleged sins of buying a plat each year are fairly offset.

You're kidding yourself - people like you are despised and mocked by every "real" player in mmorpgs. You're wasting your time pimping in here.

A parasite, by definition, is harmfull to the host.
You are a parasite.

Me either....with the dupes etc around, a minority buying plat makes no difference anyway, and really, helps keep EQ alive no matter how holy people try and act about it.
If I was starting from zero, with empty newbie zones, I may want to buy plat / characters to get a leg up.
Then again, I am having fun playing SoD as a total noob, so maybe not.
People buying plat et all helps eq more than it hurts it though, in its current state.

How exactly do you figure that? At the very least, it does little *additional* harm since the damage is already done. In a kind of "You've already killed it, might as well rape the corpse a time or two, it won't mind" way.
What benefit do you see though, that I'm apparently missing?

It does EQ no harm at all, and keeps it alive by giving people a reason to carry on playing, especially casual players who might well of given up a long time ago due to time constraints, therefore being able to buy plat to buy gear to be able to play in the latest zones is a good thing.
I wouldn't do it, but can see how it helps EQ.
If people have no reason to play, they wont play.
Its wrong in gaming terms, ie, people should have to earn what they have, but in a game EQ's age, for a newbie just starting out, that is not really possible. Who would want to spend 5 years getting to the stage of people playing now? Nobody. Unless they enjoy soloing alot I guess.

I solo, and I started my EQ account in May of 2004. I refuse to buy gear via offline companies. I'll muddle along, but I see no reason for me to raid. Of course, I doubted I would reach level 20 anytime soon. But at present I have a ranger 17 and a druid 17. One or both of them will likely be 20th level before January, 2006.

Nothing changes at level 70,only the numbers are higher. If one does not have fun at lower levels, one should play something else.

And that wasn't my point.
> Nothing changes at level 70,only the numbers are higher. In your view, in other peoples view, the game doesnt really start until 65+ everything before is a long tutorial.
> If one does not have fun at lower levels, one should play something > else. Not everyone feels the same, for me the lower levels were some of the most fun times, for sure. But the hardest and most satisfying were at the higher levels, becoming almost a god was great, but this has nothing do with buying plat, and you haven't disproved anything I said above.
For someone starting out, there is no problem with them buying plat, you could argue plat farmers would hold down camps etc etc, but people do that anyway.
The option to buy plat helps EQ survive, not die.

>MySuperSales Fan wrote: >> [quoted text clipped - 28 lines] >Submitted by: Vidden >This message was submitted through the Erollisi Marr Forum Fact is, whether he's associated with them or not, they've been around for years. Yes, occasional people are going to have a problem, just like eBayers or any other mail order or online purchasing business. One moron that claims he's going to let his kid "learn a lesson about scammers" posting here is nearly more bullshit than is bearable, as if he knew the kid would get ripped off ahead of time. Yeah--as if. More likely, he ordered himself, something f.cked up, and now he's whining like a little pussy for taking place in a deal that's likely to blow out on him in the first place, but doesn't have the balls to admit it. There's clearly too many people who have dealt with this organization who have never had a problem to start screaming that they're scammers, or that some lameass dink that stands up for them with a name like that is associated with them. They exist, they have a fair to middling rep, get over it, they aren't going anywhere. I don't favor buying sh.t, but if someone else chooses to piss their money away on imaginary equipment, that's their business... the only thing anyone that doesn't like this sh.t can do is quit playing, because it's part of the game, and it's here to stay.
