Ok, so some of us are way behind in the AA ranks. Total now at 87.
I only started game 2 years ago, and have yet to be pwr lvld, or earn AAs by
going AFK and let someone earn me a bag full of AAs by "soloing" MM.

That said, I have just spent 9 AAs on MGB, and in order to stop me appearing
like a lemon in game, I have a few questions to ask.

Basically, How??

I have a "hot-key" MGB button now, so the general question being.
Do I "pop" the MGB hotkey prior to casting my group spell?

Do I cast the group spell first, and "pop" the MGB key during its cast time?

If the former, how long after popping the MGB Hotkey have I got before
casting the grp spell?

Should I target myelf or a close player and cast?

Any other info?
Thanks in advance.

Yes, hit the MGB hotkey, then cast the group spell.

The first group spell that leaves a buff icon will be affected, if you are
interrupted while casting, MGB will reset, and you'll need to hit it again.

It's a group spell, it doesn't matter who you target.

MGB can also be activated by using a / command, /alt act <some number here>,
IIRC, google it for more info.

Whoa!  That sounds useful for more than just MGB.  My wife and I
are forever having trouble remembering what the names mean on the
veteran reward AAs.  Can they be invoked by /alt act <some number>?
If so, how do I find out the numbers?

http://eqforums.station.sony.com/eq/board/message?board.id=Crier&message.id=41
has every /alt activate # for every classes AA's, didn't happen to see the
veteran rewards on there though.

/alt list

added recently, lists them all.

Thanks!  I also managed to google for "/alt activate" and "Lesson
of the Devoted" and found some forums that listed the vet AAs as
being ##481-487.

I think I might add a line to the FAQ about the /alt command for
use in hotkeys.

Yup.

You cannot use hotkeys while casting.

Until you zone or cast a different spell, I think.  I've never tried waiting
more than a minute.

>Should I target myelf or a close player and cast?

Doesn't matter.

You can wait indefinitely as long as you don't zone or cast.  That
allows the "exploit" of 2x MGB  For example a druid could back to back
MGB 9/Steeloak(10) and SoE.

My pocket cleric doesn't use MGB often, but I *distinctly* remember MGB
timing out after about 60 seconds after getting told "just in time" to hold
off on mgb until more people zoned in.
