DoN faction

Thanks all for answering my last question. That was great to know.

Here is another question. I am Dark Elf Necro. I haven't done tire one solo
quest for the faction. These days I do creator mission but I can never find
evil group so my faction with evil camp is dubious.
Should I start turning in good tokens to raise faction with good camp? If I
do that, am I going to mess up the game in future?
Is this faction could be related to other faction hit?

To me faction in DoN is totally irrelevant, you can buy from the
opposite faction DoN Vendor being invis, interesting for example
if you want a second FT3 aug, cause they are lore.
Note that I dont do much DoNs,struggling to finish the Tier 1 quest.
Hanging around in RSS,MPG,RCoD,WoS,even NC all day will yield better
equipment than doing "Creator" missions for points.
If I could I would give this expansion back, there is no real use,and
if I want instances, there are some in OoW too, personally I still do
Ldons with friends, cause they are fun.

Unless of course, you can't tank in RSS, MPG or RCoD, but you can tank
Creator missions, to give only one example.

There is no one true way - I love DoN, I enjoy it, and I also love OoW and
I enjoy it.  For me, they're the best two expansions I've played (I started
when Luclin was released so I don't have experience of going from Original
-> Kunark or Kunark -> Velious).

Doing the tier 1 quests was a blast, doing the tier 1 missions was
excellent and sometimes stretching.  Bashing out a creator mission every
now and then is relaxing and rewarding.  Doing a new mission every now and
then is stretching and entertaining.  Doing 30 spider missions to help my
wife's enchanter get drops for her Cultural quests was testing, but it
helped bring together a couple of core guild groups of people who now work
very well together, and it took a lot of those core players from mid 60's
to upper 60's along the way.

Problem is everyone is doing Creator missions only,I am sooo tired of
this, when I am lfg I have "no Creator" in my lfg comment.

Put groups together, join an active guild with people who group in the
right level range.

You cannot progress through the DoN tiers without gaining high enough
faction with one of the two camps.  You can do as many DoNs as you want,
and buy the items available to you at the camps, but, you will never gain
the DoN AAs that you get for completing the various tiers of DoN
progression.

DoN offers several extremely useful things.  The guild lobby, where you
can summon your corpses to be rezzed.  The guild hall (if you are in a
guild), where you can set a portal to a variety of locations for fast
transportation.  The AAs that you get for DoN progression are actually
quite nice, and there are great augments, much better than LDoN,
available for significantly less effort in DoN.  Creator missions are
boring, and are not even the best ones for gaining crystals, not to
mention, nowhere near as good xp as some of the others.  People do them
because they percieve them to be easy, and have never tried the other
ones, except when they had to for progression purposes.

I have not done a single LDoN since DoN came out, but then, I didn't do
all that many for some time prior to DoN too.  I found them to be
generally boring, always the same thing over and over again.  I also beg
out of doing yet another creator DoN, as that too is quite boring.

Yes,takes any sense of danger out of the game, dive to the bottom of
every dungeon with no need to think of a plan to get back out or what
to do if you die there.

Yes,clicky transport to everywhere, takes any feel of being in a world
out of the game, but I think we  already had this discussion often
enough here,when PoK was released.
Personally I miss ships.

Why is that a good thing ?
FT items for example are much too easy to come by now, again I
admit probably a matter of taste.
But excuse me a FT3 aug you can get for just 250 points or 7
creator missions just plain out proofs my theory, that SOE is
trying to rush the players through the expansions to make them
buy another.

I tried some others, the lavaspinner lair mission come to my mind, did
it twice, both canceled after more than 2 hours, cause we couldnt get
the necessary drops,sorry forgot details.
I know there is a mission in the Ascend, you can finish faster then
Creator, but even this mission isnt done anymore by pickupgroups.

I still like Ldons, cause they require some skill in pulling and crowd
control, although the rewards are not worth it anymore as you mentioned
above, and they need an intermediate leel more than ever withall this
cheap and trivial to get "uber" items from OoW and DoN.

If i were sarcastic,I would say,all this trivialization since PoK was
very succesful in driving players away and reducing the number of
subscribers from 550k to 200k.

You have to be like 65 to do them.  IMHO making a few FT items
easily available to higher level players isn't a bad thing.

I had FT maxed out on my Cleric before DoN,and this wasnt with
any raid gear. Now I have gear with FT5 or so rotting in bank in
case I ever change my mind and level some to raise the FT cap.
When EQ was too hard for me in 2000 so I canceled my account,
they now have gone way beyond the other side, its totally trivial now.
I wonder when they will add a PoK book to Chardok B.  :p

No,but we were talking about DoN,more specifically about the laughable
prices for FT3 augs.

6-8 hours of work is trivial?  Not to me.  That's about a week
of playtime for me, and it's nice to be able to actually get something
cool instead of losing 4 rolls for the stuff that did drop.

Trivial FT is Earring of the Solstice, which every caster over
level 3 has...  And ya know what?  I like that too.  What exactly
is wrong with a few easy to get cool items? That FT3 aug or EoS isn't
going to make any character unbalancingly uber.

My cleric maxed FT by doing 10,000,000 LDON missions for
those augs, and it WAS NOT fun.  Luckily I was between positions :-)
for a while back then and had time to pass.  Oh, and I added an ornate
bracer picked up for a good price in the bazaar, and was STILL only at FT11
when OOW came out and I was able to add some lucky drops.

Wait, how do you set where the portal will send you? I thought the only
thing you could do was buy the crystals and have the gnome send you.
Any info on this would be outstanding.

Sounds like a misunderstanding here.  You buy a crystal and hand it to
the gnome.  If you then stand on the pad you will be given the choice
to port to the zone you selected.  Perhaps the point of confusion here
is that you didn't know that the pad would also port other guild
members to the same location without having to buy a crystal?

Buy a crystal from the gnome, give the crystal to the gnome, portal is set
to a new location.  It will remain set as long as someone is in the guild
hall instance, so multiple people can use it once it is set.

Faction won't matter much in the long run.  I switched, as an iksar, to the
good faction just to make the crystal farming that I knew I would do in some
groups actually count toward the faction I was trying to raise.
