I had connection problems once a long time ago and called tech support at
Sony. They walked me through some things and got me going. Can't remember
if tech support is toll free or not, but that's an option for you.

Thanks. I have a ticket in, and found some articles in the SOE knowledge
database that I am going to try, but I figured that it can't hurt to ask in
here as well. Before I call tech support, I might try the on-line chat
first.

When this happens to me, it's because Internet Explorer has been
set to Work Offline mode. Somehow, somewhere, for some reason <grin>,
the patcher uses IE to connect.

Hmmm, so the fact that I have, in the Windows settings, set it to use
Firefox as the web program might have something to do with it.
Thanks!!!

Also if you use some sort of proxy (a lot of dialup ISPs make you use a
proxy for various reasons) it may work fine with your web browser but simply
isn't built to handle EQ. As you might guess from the above, EQ will try to
use your internet setting for proxy as well.
