Meditate on beastlords are capped at 185 until you reach level 51+ AFAIK you get +5 cap per level so at 51 it's 190. Max is 235 at level 65+
To fix it, get a group and work on leveling up some more. You should be able to get decent xp in The Deep if you can get a healer and a tank along. The Deep is usually empty zone so it should be easy to get anything done. And keep a certain no drop item off a named shroom, it is one of the 4 items you need for beast epic 1.0

zigipha@hotmail.com - 21 Jul 2005 19:04 GMT My 48 necro just hit 248 on med.
If i can only get the research up...stuck at 170 ish and components to practice are not so easily/cheaply buyable

>If i can only get the research up...stuck at 170 ish and components to >practice are not so easily/cheaply buyable Skillup sucks a lot more now than before the revamp a few months ago. Max for Necro's spell is 200.
I remember when I first heard abouy the rumored skillup nerf, I sat down and did nothing but grind on my BL. Got baking to 300 after nearly 4,000 MTP's (most ended up in guild bank and left on ground around PoK) and also got my tailor to 300. one week later several people on EQTraders forum were bitching and moaning about SoE nerfing skillup on most tailoring from 300+ to 250 or less and forcing the expensive or hard to find DoN cultural as the only tradeskill skillups on some races.
I got my brewing up to 300 and fletching to 252 shortly after that.

zigipha@hotmail.com - 22 Jul 2005 14:03 GMT I dont have mod ..but ill double check. I noticed a msg saying i improved and i thought it said 248.
I didnt hear ahead about the skill nerf, but i got blindsided by the nerfing of training in research. I had the money to pump into it..oh well.
I'm not sure what you mean by "Max for Necro's spell is 200". I have a sheet that shows necro spell trivial going up to 227. Are you saying that the max research I can get is 200 no matter what? If so, what classes can go higher"? Or do i need mods to get it above 200?

Well I have a list somewhere that stated the max Necro could level up in spell research was 200. Even with 5% Geerlok mod (+10 on 200), your 227 is higher. Maybe SoE raised the cap sometime ago?

zigipha@hotmail.com - 23 Jul 2005 19:10 GMT 1. I checked my necro - med is at 242, with no known med modifiers. Hes is lvl 48
2. My remark was that the trivials for the necro spells was 227; I cant comment about the research cap, but I would assume that you can go as high as 227. Look at eqtraders, research recipes, spells 50-60

Look at eqtraders, research recipes, spells 50-60 Caster's Realm has it capped at 200. They did make a change recently (CR is poorly updated these days) but I don't know if the only change they made was to make it impossible to train research at a guild master like you used to. Not sure if it was raised.
Capping a trivial above the attainable skill level is not exacly a new tactic, BTW.

Research has been uncapped (or is now capped at 300 as all the other tradeskills) with the same patch that made training research over 20 at the guild master impossible. But there is no known spell recipe (yet) that has a trivial higher than 227.

But there is no known spell recipe >(yet) that has a trivial higher than 227. Hmmm... maybe there will be one in the future expansion. There's been a little rumor that the future expansion will raise the max level from 70 to either 75 or even 80 so the research may be useful in finding spells to cover the newer level(s).

Look at eqtraders, research recipes, spells 50-60 The game has many recipes that have a higher trivial level than the maximum attainable skill level, so that is not something to base such an assumption on.
