Nope, we've all moved on to the exciting world of Tiddlywinks!

Shamans are not so good. What you want is a nice plastic blue wink.
Blue winks are superior to all other colors of wink.

My favourite wink is a blue wink named Punchy.

My first suggestion would be to join a guild.  They should be able to help
you get your epic.
Check the ezboards ar ezboard.com and look for either your current server or
the new one.
This will give you an idea of perhaps are the most active guilds.  You can
also post for help, on the boards.

While my main character is a shaman, the shaman pets are 2nd worst in the
game.  But hey free dps is free dps.
Or as a friend of mine used to say, the shamn pet is a speed bump while you
run away.....

The spells will not compare to mages or wizards for damage, however we get
really good buffs, and can throw in
a heal or two when the cleric is busy.

Sustan Bearshoulders <Shirak>
Torvonnilous (for the time being)

Shaman pet isn't bad in the damage it puts out, but its tanking ability is
spectacularly poor.  In my experience, so poor that it doesn't even make a
very effective speed bump.  =)

As I understand it, once an SK gets his final pet, it is better than a
shaman pet, but up until then shaman pet is better.

Really?  That's interesting, and somewhat unexpected.  I may have to start
asking SKs why they don't have a pet out.  =)

I have not personally tested this, it's just hearsay, guess I should
check it out personally.  Heck, in groups, most SKs I play with pull up
their pet, even if it is not the level 70 (or whatever the last one is)
pet, it's free added DPS.  I do know the final pet an SK gets is high
enough level to actually be able to hit most mobs that a group would be
fighting at that level.

While I'm far from having the final pet :) I personally don't normally
bring out my skellebuddy because he's so freaking eager to go after the
first thing that hits me.  I expect I'll summon one more often once I
have the AA that lets me tell him *SIT*STAY*GOOD BONES*, but for now
it's mostly only used in areas where it's not as likely to come back
with some new friends if it decides to go walkabout.

Xiphos - Why do skellebuddies like to go make so many new friends at
radom? My dancin' blades never do that.

I use my pet *all* the time. It is very rarely an issue.

Definitely, find a decent guild, but don't expect them to all rush in to
help you complete your epic immediately.  You should expect to have to
prove yourself to them first, and expect to help others in the guild
first before you get help.

Actually, with spirit of the Leopard or Panther, the shaman pet is a
killing machine.  Well, at least prior to the nerf, have not tried
soloing with him again since then.  I did not even bother to use DoTs on
the mobs, just keep FA and Leopard on my pup, and sick him on a mob.
Even for mobs that run, they rarely ran far enough to matter.  I did keep
my best nuke memmed to help finish off a running mob, but that was it.
Root was useless, as the Leopard proc would just break it immediately
anyway, root was handy for CC the few times that the mob did run far
enough away.

I did a DoN with 2 Beastlords, 1 Mage, Cleric, and a Ranger to tank.
With leopard on all 4 pets, I didn't even bother to slow the mobs.
