Attempting to start a discussion on standard must have types of gear.
Items that can help in various situations, but stuff you may not wear
at all times.  May it be a Raid Gear Kit, or just a particular
Location Gear Kit.  Stuff that no character (in the upper levels say
46 plus) should be with out for very long.  Preferably looking for
Unlimited charges, but not necessarily only unlimited, and preferably
All/All or as close to universal usage as possible.

Example is:  Enduring Breath items.  We have all been there, when EB
runs out, and you have to depend on someone else to cast it on you, or
hell even if your the caster, it makes one less thing to worry about,
and one more spell slot open.
Some common ones I see are.
  Shissar Eye Earring
  Fishbone Earring

Resist Gear:  The standard set that anyone can get their hands on.
Yes some Wis, Int, Str, Sta, HP will be sacrificed in the time being
but. the resists are a needed thing.
These items can be used by all/all
   2 x Velium BD Bracer
   1 x Gold Diamond Mask
   2 x Velium Diamond Rings
1 x Gold Blue Diamond Choker
2 x Electrum Blue Diamond Earrings

Clicky items: Invis, not sure what else would be a universal usage
item

What else can there be?

Any clicky junk buff is nice against dispelling mobs in a raid situation.
It is also nice against mobs that debuff, as you can bring up the junk buff
(hopefully a shortlived one) and when it drops, the debuffs can go live in
the first slot for easy dispelling.

> What else can there be?

See Invis is a big one on my list.

As a puller, my bracer of hammerfal is handy. As a monk, so is my anizoks
gauze press. Anything that lets you cast a spell you'd normally cast for
free is a winner.

And, of course, melees need haste and casters need focus effects. Melees
like regen and casters like FT(and also regen in the cases of necros and
shaman).

The various free heals are priceless I believe- I don't have a Velious BP
yet, but I can imagine they come in very handy.

Other utility items that can be handy are shrinkers (anizoks minimizing
device) illusion items (masks) SoW potions... The list goes on and on.

Tinkered item called:  Spyglass.  Unlimited and instacast charges of Glimpse
(magnifies your vision).  Trivials at 93 and costs a whopping 23p to make.

Come see my bazaar mule Noany on Zeb...she sells them for only about 60p. :)

Amulet of the grey wastes is an easy quest to do in katta castellum
and it is an EB item.

Insta-click items are useful against mobs that dispel to add
in buffs to protect others from being dispelled.

Jboots for outdoors.
Bracer of the hidden is and insta-click see invis item.
Goblin skull earring has insta-click Grim Aura.

> What else can there be?

For classes that cannot cast gate an Awesome item to get is
the Worker's Sledgemallet quest in the Overthere. This hammer
procs a gate to The Overthere, which is damn nice since there is
now a book to PoK right there as well. The hammer is 2HB and
all/all. Some races/classes/religions cannot get the mallet due to
faction issues but for those that can its a huge time saver. Every
enchanter should have one as it is trivial for them to get one.
Hammer does not work until level 51 but you can do the faction
work ahead of time.

There are the gnomish tinker made items that can be recharged
with a collapsible toolkit and mana batteries that are damn nice
to have. Like the gauze press that makes bandages, the minimizing
device for shrinking, the vanishing device for invisibility.

There are some specific quest items for certain race/class/religions
that are nice to have like the root necklace for Tunare followers. The
snare necklace from Neriak for Innoruk followers. The Temple of
Sol Ro insta-click wand of temperate flux quest for wizards.

There are also the click evac items that wizards and druids get The crucible
of Escape, nice for saving a spell slot. The return to temple items that
Clerics get. The return to home spirit stones that Shaman get.

Man this could get to be a big list.

Not if you are a Necro. Of course, I do have DMF, I just need to remember to
cast it.

Amulet of the Grey Wastes. Pretty easy quest and the only EB item
any of my chars has ever had.

Maybe Blackened Alloy Crown or Crown of Froglok Kings? Anyone who can
afford a bunch of velium jewelry should be able to afford one of those.
(not sure offhand if they are all/all)

My equipment (subtitle: My clickies):

Bio orb (clicky blind)
Grandmaster's Wristwraps (clicky summon something to throw)
Bracer of the Hidden (clicky see invis)
Minimizing device (clicky shrink)
Holgresh beads (clicky eye of zoom)
Vizier beads (clicky identify)
Pegasus feather cloak (clicky fly)
Jboots (clicky speedy feet)
Manisi plant (clicky summon bandage thingies)
Amulet of necropotence (clicky illusion skeleton)
Crown of deceit (clicky illusion wood elf)
Ornate BP (clicky self-shield)
Ornate legs (clicky stamina buff)
Vanishing device (clicky invis)
Coldain ring (clicky DS)
Epic (clicky 40% haste)
Shovel of the harvest (clicky summon food)
Worker Sledgemallet (proc gate to OT weapon)
Anklesmasher (proc snare weapon)

I actually have more stuff, but those are the perma-charge or rechargeable
items.  I also carry an assortment of:  fungusbeast gland (clicky snare),
staff of forbidden rites (clicky rez), conjurer's stone (clicky corpse
summon), pulsating goo (clicky rez), something goo (clicky regen), root goo
(clicky root), root web (clicky root), at least two types of gate potions,
and usually more, a titan potion for when I want to play Godzilla, a
mechanical toolbox (clicky summon toolbox to recharge some items), clicky
summon fishing pole clicky summon beer thingy, mechanical fletching kit,
mechanical sewing kit, mechanical spit, mechanical summon tackle box, DS
potion, slow stone (3 charge clicky slow from Hate), fungi tunic, and I'm
sure I'm forgetting multiple items.

To go along with all those, my "standard must have gear" includes six 100%
weight-reducing bags (only one of which weighs 1.0) and a large coin purse
to reduce my coin weight by 80%.  When you enjoy toys as much as me, and
play a monk, the bags are almost as important as the toys that go in them.

Easiest one to get is probably the necklace out of SG. Drops off of
Sirens and a good group should be able to get 2 or 3 in a night.

Froggie Crown

The earring out of Warslik woods (goblinskull?), anyone ovr 40th lvl

item.
