Its no big surprise SOE would launch a gimick like this in the shadwos of other and better RPGs. GoD was a frikking joke to
everyone. The total waste of AAXPs in GoD was just too much for most of us hardcore players. Alot of us sold our accounts moved on.
SOE is just fighting for the scraps now. Blame the game designers, its their fault entirely.

I read a couple of those "reviews". They weren't reviews. They were
either fanbois raving or disgruntled ex-EQlive players bitching about SOE
in general.

That was pretty much my take. The reviews have actually turned into a
weird sort of forum for people to discuss their opinions. Too bad, it's
going to make it hard to sift through them when the real reviews start
being written after the game is actually released.

That's certainly a possibility. But then again, maybe not. From what
I've heard from the playerbase, SWG was a flop. But it is still selling
(for now), and therefore SOE considers it to be a success (for now). And I
think that barring massive technical glitches, it will have a big launch.
EQII have generated even more buzz than SWG did it seems to me, and it does
have that Everquest name to help it out.
To be honest, while I certainly am interested in the launch, I am more
interested in what will be going with the game at its one year anniversary.

That doesn't mean they didn't have interesting things to say, or that
their points were invalid.

Actually, that's precisely what it means.

I don't think any release date is worth a hill of beans until SOE makes it
official. The dates that Amazon shows as release dates may or may not have
a basis in reality. A 9/15 release date would mean a 3 month beta, which I
think would be suicidal.

Sadly we live in an age where critique and opinion are believed to be
one in the same. Those 39 "opinions" demonstrate what my old college
professor used to refer to public opinion as; "Activated Ignorance".
Amazon offers you a chance to rate the "review".When I go to see what
the target date for release of certain software and notice these
premature mental ejaculators, I just give their "reviews" a thumbs
down. Lets face it, it is a bad review.
