Can someone direct me to, or provide a summary of the items needed to get
the key to the Bastion of Thunder.  I have a lucid shard from DSP, and
beyond that I canl;t seem to find an resource that lists what I need and
where they are. Thanks in advance

From the Plane of Storms, you need to loot a sash, a beard, a head, two
different medallions, and a bone. The heads are common drops around the
zone, the bone a little harder to get but can be found in the desert area,
the medallions must be obtained from two different camps (they look
identical but the three different camps produce three distinct medallions
and you need any two distinct ones) which drop off some of the nameds in the
zone (someone else may chime in here with particulars). The sash and beard
are less common than the head (hmm, did they drop also off the named?), but
I think still fairly common (or at least were for me when I did this quest).

Take all six of these items and follow Askr's directions explicitly and
carefully. He stands over by the tree that you use to exit the zone. Once
you've completed his dialogs, run to the big tornado in the middle of the
zone, invis up and run past the froggies near the storm and run right into
it. This will zone you into BoT with your key. As this is a necessary part
of the planar progression to get elemental access, you'll find lots of
people doing this quest and you should be able to get lots of help on it.

I did the entire quest with a small raiding party that I led in one
afternoon. We had like 2 groups of 65s and it was overkill but fun and
rewarding.

By the way, if you haven't already, open up a premium account on Allakhazam
and there you will find tons of information just like this on quests, items,
and annotated comments from users. Well worth the nominal cost, one of the
best resources on the net, along with this newsgroup of course. ;-)

One point to add, all of the drops are off of giants in the various areas
of Plane of Storms, including the medallions.

Just thought of another point to add. You must have completed at least one
of the PoJ trials prior to doing this quest or it won't produce a key.

No one "needs" a premium account, it was just a suggestion. You get a bit
more access and the cost is pretty nominal. That said, you're right, a
non-premium account can probably access a lot of the good content at that
site.

IMO theres no real need to set up the premium account on allakhazam.  i've
just used google when i've had a question, and the 1st link they provide is
almost always an allakhazam site, and its always what im looking for.

Agreed. As I said in a subsequent message, there is no "need" to set up a
premium account. However, let me add another perspective. I like having a
resource like Allakhazam around, and I want them to continue being around
and providing the kind of content that they provide. Bandwidth costs money,
content costs both time and money, and ad-sponsorship may make ends meet but
I question whether it provides sufficient incentive to keep the quality of
content consistently high. If paying a small fee helps keep this resource
available to the community, then I really don't mind making that small
contribution. I realize that not everyone will share this perspective or
find themselves able to spend funds in this manner. But for those who can,
it's another good reason to consider doing so.

I also subscribe to the premium service. I want them around at least as long
as I'm playing the game.

Winterfury's summary covers what I remember about it, but...

That's for the Vex Thal key.  Entirely different animal, and you'll need
to kill Emperor Ssraeshza first, and collect 8 more shards.  The DSP shard
is easy to get... if you don't even have a key to the Emperor's area yet,
you could probably safely delete it.

Although, mine's still rotting in the bank.  Do as I say, not as I do! :)

The lucid shard is for the Vex Thal key, has nothing to do with BoT.  What
you need has been posted by others already.

Before I found the value of writing notes and paying attention, I came into
possession of a lucid shard. Is there a way to find out which one it is?
