Heeding the advice posted in various places, some of our caster family have
chosen not to train in research at an early level.  Looking ahead, they see
that the cap for the skill of 200 falls at level 55.  Now here is the
question.  Training at level 55, would one receive achievement of 200 or
perhaps only 55 achievement points?

I would say they would get a skill of 55 for the first training point they
spent and if they've saved them up, would be able  to train all the way up
from there with the remaining training points they have saved......

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

You're correct, although skilling up that way is a pretty expensive
way to do it.

55

I waited to 50 on my enchanter alt and he started with a 50
skill.  Then used bazaar purchased stuff to go to 101, and
LoY swatches to go to 135ish.  Then just dropped skill
points in to 200.

Those swatches are great - skillups and they sell for 9pp
to vendors.  Look for the components in the 5-10pp range and
you'll break even pp wise while skilling up.
