It reeks of awesomeness.

Seriously very impressive indeed. Got some screenshots out of that.

Night sky is great. The dawn is really pretty, too. Pink sky, light
fog. I was impressed. ;)

It's nice where it works.  In Grieg's End, in Grieg's room, the top 1/3rd
of the screen was totally messed up.  It was getting multiple images
there.  I have not seen that anywhere else yet.  In SKyshrine, near
Yelinak's chamber, the sun was shining through a wall depending on how
far from the wall I was.  Targetting sometimes works, sometimes doesn't
now.  My mouse clicks stopped working entirely in Grieg's End until I
camped to desktop and came back in.  Those are the things I have noticed
so far.

I had a similar problem in Shadeweaver's Thicket... any time I
looked up to check out the sky, I got a blur of stars. I quickly ran
to the PoK, no problem there... the sky being screwed up seems to be
zone specific at this point.

Targetting was also horrible for me... it was nearly impossible to
click on a mob. I did like the light up effect on targeted mobs... it
will be very nice once it works.

As soon as I logged in, I was SO HAPPY I decided to only use my alt
on patch days... XP loss and a CR on a main because the display is
buggy is always a drag.

Alas that they did, in fact, f.ck the patch up.  Some people are
getting some pretty annoying graphics bugs, even though they have
DirectX 9 and the latest graphics drivers.  Since I'm currently
apparently unable to connect to anything in the US, I don't know
whether this will affect me, but it happened to a friend and several
people in his guild.

Of course, this being on Windows, it could be something else that's
screwed up and they just need to reinstall.

> I love the new sky too... Sunrise is nothing short of jawdropping.

But yes, the sky is great (it worked on his other computer).

I havnt played extensively yet since patch, spent maybe 15 minutes looking
around before going into trader mode for the day, heres what I noticed.

my vah shir can no longer walk over objects he once before could, such as
tables in the pok library main floor, of the vendor tables in potranq (not a
big deal I guess since not all races could walk over the stuff to begin
with, but VERY annoying when you're acustomed to being able to)

I noticed I was getting hung up on corners, the stairs to get into library
for example, I got hung up twice on those.

I witnessed a mgb at the pok bank, there were 227 people in pok at the time
and it looked like every damn one of them were at the bank, there was a
breif moment of lag while it cached (I guess), like very very short. and
after that NO lag what so ever. truely a first. very nice work on sony's
part.
However, I did notice several times at random times that same breif moment
of lag, as if it were recaching the world around me as I moved.

It seems jumping has been tuned down. Try running and jumping foward..
I certainly notice a big enough difference..

Man I just raided Tower of Solusek Ro tonight and the new engine made
it so that if you shrank you couldn't run up stairs. You had to jump
up each one.

Believe me when I say I have done all the jumping I want to do for the
next ten months of EQ. I knew I should have dropped and relogged or
bugged a growth/illusion class to restore normal size....

Yep, noticed the same thing in Skyshrine among other places.  Also, even
at normal size, some places I used to be able to walk I can't anymore,
like through the windows in the banks in the Bazaar.

Oh, and I can no longer go up some stairs that I used to be able to.  Also,
the bank in the bazaar, I used to walk my dwarven paladin into the bank
through the windows, can't do that anymore without jumping.

It's the exact same sky in SWG. I was running across the Scarlet Desert
and felt I was back on Tantoonie.

Just loigged in and boy os the new sky nice. Too bad I'm experiencing two
major bugs with the new engine or it would be almost wotrth it.

It's beautiful!  I love the stars in Freeport.

I agree wholeheartedly! Not only do the various skies look great, but
the environmental lighting is awesome. A dawn, all of the trees and
the ambient lighting actually look like you would expect for that time
of day and delineation of the sun. That changes some time after dawn
to normal daytime lighting. The only thing I would like to see is a
more defined sun rather than just a somewhat brighter blurry spot in
the sky.

Additionally, the fog looks like it has been done really well in many
of the zones I've been in. They've changed it from just a simple
fade-out effect to more of a reduction of detail, followed by a fading
out of the silhouettes of objects, the farther away they are. It gives
it a bit of an eerie vibe in LFay, for instance.

I think that overall they've made a huge improvement. It really adds
to the atmosphere.

I think it depends on the zone and/or weather.  I looked up in FoB
at one point and saw a definite sun (bright yellow circle).  Other
places, other times, it's been the bright blurry spot.

Now if they'd just fix it not to use the same sky in all zones.
It's particularly jarring to look up from a Luclin zone (e.g.,
Shadeweavers) and see the moon overhead.  The old Luclin sky,
with Norrath overhead, was quite impressive, and I miss it.

The last couple times I've passed through Shadeweavers it's
happened to be nighttime.  Have they at least fixed it so the
supposedly always-dark parts of Luclin aren't lit during the day?

Its blurred because of the continual rain and fog in all zones  ;)

I never though Nektulos would appear so light and airy  :))

They said they were going to take a while to fix it so not all zones
have the same sky, and they haven't mentioned fixing it that I can
recall.  I haven't actually been to Luclin in a while, though, so for
all I know they may have fixed it and just not mentioned it.  But they
have at least indicated that they know it's a problem.

There are much worse problems to fix right now, though...
