A stereo store chain's been shutting down for the past month or so
here in Calgary.  Yesterday was the final day.  Went in and picked up
the item I wanted.  $500 Sony 60-CD stereo system, got it for $100.
Demo model, so it's a bit dinged and the front door won't stay shut,
but I still think I got an excellent deal.

And it's under warranty, so I can get it repaired.

Nice, its also good to try to keep tabs on electronics chains and when they
begin trying to remove a previous years model. I got a $300 home receiver
for $100 once because it was on sale, on clearance, and an open box.

I got an $800 Widescreen HD TV last mont at Sears, because the case
was a bit scratched, for $240. It is absolutely wonderful, and I could
care less...I don't watch the case.
