Subject says it all. What's the best one. My current level is 40 if
that helps.

I may have missed it, but you have HOW MUCH to spend?

Timespinner, Blade of the hunter is nice...Darkglinted Blade (spl) also :P

But really, what are using now and how much do you have to spend (if you are
buying in bazaar)?

...assuming you don't have hundreds of thousands of plat to spend, get
a Wurmslayer til level 50.  There are "better" weapons out there but
most of them are level restricted.  And they are level restricted not
only by level written on the weapon discription but also by your
damage bonus.

I say "unless you have hundreds of thousands of plat" because if you
are rich beyond your dreams, go drop 500k or so and get a Sceptre of
Destruction.  You'll draw aggro but then anything you are fighting
will be dead long before that matters anyway.

On Xegony, a Defender's Lightblade can easily be had for a K or less.  Wipes
the floor with a Wormslayer (we call them Fatigueslayers).  An Elite
Steelslave blade is also easilly had for a K or so.

Recommended level of 56...and this guy is level 40.

Fatigue only mattered, once, when Stamina was below 100.  These days
it doesn't matter at all as far as I can tell.

Recommended 60.

Recommended levels still don't work when it comes to weapon damage.

They will change that the day I find an affordable Entwood Mace... :)

Well, it's kinda bad foresight to buy items based on a bug that is so
glaring it's bound to be fixed....someday...soon.

When it's lasted this long?

...one that I didn't think of was the Swiftblade of Zek.  Very good
ratio for a non-level-restricted weapon and good stats as well.

Once again the Wurmslayer is a good all-around ranger weapon unless
you have lots of money to spend.  He didn't really specify so I don't
know how he intended to acquire the "best sword" for a Ranger.

SBoZ, on MT, is cheaper these days, for maybe 30k?  Dont remember.

Currently, I'm using Stained Axe of the Scion (primary) and Defenders
Lightblade (secondary).

I've found I steal agro even if sometimes (due to health) start a fight
when the mob is already at 70% health.

That's why they gave you the fancy jolt spells.

If you're too low to have them yet, you probably tank as well as the
plate classes still anyways. :-)

Level 17, almost 18 (was about 0.5% from dinging when the crud got me) -
 800hp - 500 ac - 450 atk

I'm twinked... got about 70kpp worth of stuff on me, but the person I'm
working with in my group for the most part has two 65 rangers and is
making sure I don't screw up by being way too powered for my own good.
He's playing the class of my main (cleric) and me his (ranger). It's a
challenge but the ranger has been a blast so far.

Want to try a beastlord but don't know what stats I should semi-twink
(i'm talking about spending 2-3kpp on a full suit of armor + weapons).

What? A lot of my stuff that I have (eg. Crypt Robber's chestplate) is
still in the bank and/or not at the level at which I can yet equip it.
For instance where the CRC will go I'm currently wearing Ivy Etched.
