Corpses can only be summoned at the EW zoneline.  Once you start down the
hall into Kael corpses can no longer be summoned.  Anywhere else in the zone
and you will get a message saying something like "you are prevented from
summoning a corpse in this location."

You can summon corpse at zone.  Been doing this many times before.  However,
you can't drag corpse even you are invisible.  They will discover you.

You can only summon corpses to the East Wastes zone in.

I'm almost 100% certain that it does.  Perhaps someone was confused
about the corpse dragging change they put in about 6(?) months ago.
Dragging a corpse makes you KOS regardless of your faction in Kael.
This is to prevent someone from killing a few Dwarves, getting non-KOS
faction, and acting as a corpse dragger alt for Kael raids.

It's always been that way, nothing of great significance has changed in the
past 6 months

And why go to all that trouble, when you can just create a certain
race/deity class that doesn't even begin KoS to most of Kael....

Halflings fit into Thurg better when you're doing the scutwork for
the Coldain Military Wristguard quest, and yet attract no undue
attention in Kael.  If only they were as much fun to punt as Gnomes...

I could have sworn I saw a patch message about it a long time ago,
changing it from typical rules to the "velious code".

Could have been longer than that.  I have been around for about 2
years myself...

I only used 6 months as that was your time period, drag agro has been there
for years in Velious

It only takes 1 HoT raid to realise that, when the CoV mobs come pound you..

Wasn't it Velious where they put in code so you couldn't use non-KOS
mules to pull corpses because they would be agro'd when they tried? It's
been a while since I did Velious content but I thought they did that, I
seem to remember it being an issue in Halls of Testing.

Yes, a number of velious zones are like that, ToV is definitely one of
them.

Pretty sure we had a cleric on giant faction who could drag corpses
unhindered..
