does anyone know how to get it going.

i start the game, i see the  consolle like in Q3.
but after that i get a grey flikkering screen and thats is, no sound or
anyting.

does anyone know what to do?

I am getting the same results. I deleted the DoomConfig.cfg file and
it still gave me the same results.

You have nVidia card if I presume right?
And you of course have newest drivers?
it is in those drivers!

you have to downgrade them...
if your card is from aka asus, go their web site and install their drivers.
or download VERY old nVidia drivers, if I remember right 2001 driver are
that stage that those will work with doom III. you can also try 2002, but
thats time when nVidivia added cheats, and I think that thats why DooM III
won't work. It won't work because it isn't Quake3.

And besides the DooM III works even thought you cant see it. If youre good
"blind writer" as I am just press ? or ~ and open your console. then type
map e3_something, you can find those from readme witch came with that
doom3e3alpha0.2, then you should wait a loooongg time. after that you should
hear some thing, and try moving around. :) The soundworld of DooM III is so
good that you don't have to see anything to get scared. ;)
