hamster dan - 29 Sep 2004 03:23 GMT Delta beginning when you have to turn on the power and you wander around and there are no enemies at all, but lots of things flying apart, weird sounds from the walls and behind doors, etc. Really spooky and I kept waiting for something to jump out at me, but nothing did.
So now I am in Delta 2 and I found this little cubicle thing with glass you can shoot out and I see some stuff on the floor including a rocket launcher, but I can not get into the thing. I tried to jump through the windows or crawl through the bottom, no luck.
Diver - 29 Sep 2004 03:32 GMT If you blow out the glass on the bottom, you can 'reach in' and get some of the cells. I have yet to figure out how to get the rest.
ANBODY SOLVES THIS ONE YET!
Four passes through (recruit, marine, veteran, nightmare) and I still haven't figured it out :(

But it took a few tries. Actually I did it twice because just after I got to Hell at 640x480 @ 15-30 fps, I started over with video upgrade to 1280x1024 @ 60 fps. It went a bit easier up to knowing what to expect and having the martianbuddy.com code for the prize lockers, but I am still in Hell.

The smaller one can be pushed right up against the wall and you can crouch on top of it and crawl into the room. Then the other side has the desk or whatever the body is on, you use that to get out.
I downloaded the "tweakedoom" mod earlier. Pretty fun. Gives the shotgun a lot more kick, makes some stuff look a lot more interesting. The shotgun (and also some improved life and armor) makes things easier so best to use it to play through after you beat the game yourself. But it is neat anyway. The something-or-other church mod is okay. It should not be too long before we start seeing some really neat mods.

The boxes only put you even with the frame of the window, not above it. Only speaking from past experience, of course. I'll try again later. Maybe I was using the wrong box.

Yeah, I got one cell too. I tried a lot to get in. he window isn't even there, coz the guy's leg is sticking out. I killed his a.s and still couldn't get in.

Seriously, id, are you listening? Most of us can get to hell and back but can't get into this weird a.s cubicle. How the hell did the UAC employees get into it???? Speaking of relating it all to employment, I guess the UAC must have said to hell with OSHA standards and building codes, because there's violations all over the place... Why, someone needs to mop up all that blood for starters...

Pushed a chair down the stairs in friont of the fallen cabinet (got rid of the body first with a shotgun blast). Jumped onto the chair. Jumped then crouched a few times and I was in. Piccie in alt.binaries.doom for the >unbelievers. Shaun was the chair upright or on its side. When I first played (recruit), I pushed a chair down to the window but it still didn't get me in. The chair had fallen over on its side. I didn't try upright. As a matter of fact, every other time I got to that spot, I just grabbed the easy cells and went on my way.

Hi Diver, on it's side. Wouldnt know how to get it upright anyway. Shaun

Wouldnt know how to get it upright anyway. Shaun Tried that same method the first time I found the room and never got it to work. Congratulations for solving it. This and the one where the amo is up on top of the cage are the only two puzzles I never did figure out.

Piccie in alt.binaries.doom for the > unbelievers. Shaun I don't understand why so many people have been having trouble with this. When I played it all I did was jump on the cardboard box on the left side of the glassed in section then do a 'jump duck' move with slight forward momentum to get in through the window. I didn't think twice about it.
A friend of mine was having trouble getting in so I reloaded my game and in 20 trials I was able to jump and duck successfully 15 times from the box.
Your description involved using a chair. Was the cardboard box not there for you? Anyway I'm glad you were able to use sheer ingenuity and determination to get in there - well done!
Cheers, Tim

Determination only came from seeing this thread prior so when I got there I thought I'd have a go. I did try the boxes but managed to push them into a corner where they became 'stuck' and I couldnt use them. Hence the chair. (I wasnt going to mention that cock-up as it did slightly detract from the success of getting in) :-)

Anyway I'm glad you were able to use sheer ingenuity and determination > to get in there - well done! I asked the same question a long while ago on http://www.planetdoom.com/ and no one ever said they got in. I tried the box many times. I "cleared" the guy with the leg sticking out, shot out windows, got the 1 cell that's close to the window, but never got in.
On Planet Doom, I think someone said they used "noclip" mode to try to find a door or other way in.
You are a hero. And a bastard, as I have to go back to that spot and play the whole game again!

weretable and the undead chairs - 12 Oct 2004 04:33 GMT I went back to that spot. I still did not have to do anything except push the smaller box against the window, crouch and go in. ::shrugs::

Hi Inglo, Autosave Delta Labs 2a, watch your position by the text at the bottom of the screen (to the right of your health and armour) and look for the 'Records Office'. Not sure exactly how far in. Shaun.

SnoopJeDi - 29 Nov 2004 22:23 GMT I'm a huge fan of the part where a civilian guides you through that dark section with the lamplight. Creeped me out.
The section where the contained bodies of the monsters were being transported (same basic idea, small pocket of moving light, lots of darkness for enemies to hide in) was also pretty cool.
