I f.cked up my skill setting by changing the g_skill. my question is what
skill number 1,2,3,4 relates to which level of difficulty.
TIA

Something I found in a google search said 0-3 (higher=harder), so maybe
you are a notch up from where you wanted to be. I do not know if that is
set by default, where it is normally stored, or if it is only used if you
want to increase difficulty. I am playing Marine level and g_skill is not
listed in my cfg file.

Thanks.. I didnt think of the g_skill starting at 0 rather than 1.. that may
help me work it out.

Search Google /Groups /Advanced Search for g_skill in this group's posts.
Somebody's mentioned it. You can also tell you're in nightmare when your
health drops automatically to 25, right? So set a number, start a game.

I think g_skill 3 and 4 are nightmare.. maybe it starts at 0,1,2,3 which
would make anything higher than 3 nightmare.
so maybe 2 is verteran which is what im after...updateing the duck tape mode
lowerd the skill level, hence my messing around with g_skill.

The default setting is 1. The rest you should be able to figure out.

why not delete the doomconfig.cfg in the base directory and let the game
rebuilding for you. i just did this because i lost all shadows in the
game playing with autoexec.cfg and i wanted it reset. work great for
me. if you dont want to delete it, rename it.
i read about this along time ago when the alpha version of doom 3 was
leaked.
