well... doom 3 is coming (hopefully...) and it's going to cost a lot. at
least 500$ for a new motherboard, some ram, a new ati card (or a nvida?
let's look a the benchmarks when the game comes out) and a new cpu.
do you doomers think the game is worth 500$?

what i wanted to say is that for 500$ you can get a ps2 or an xbox and a
whole lot of accesories and games. not just the hardware for _1_ game.
is the world crazy? why do we pc gamers have to pay that much more?

I prefer PC to consoles ANY day. I gotta upgrade anyway, so I've
started saving and hopefully when Doom III comes out, my new pcs gonna
be more than willing to have it installed on its new 120GB harddisk
*wish* :)

But it's not just one game.  If your PC is studly enough for Doom 3 it
can probably handle everything else out there on the market right now.
And probably everything new that'll be out for some time to come.

Personally, I went the PS2 route.  I'd love to have a decent gaming
machine (right now I'm using a P200) but can't afford one and the PS2
isn't a bad second choice, though some would disagree.  Whatever...

Well, since I plan to play D3 for about two or three years, I'm not
interested in other games. :)

Hehe, if it has a decent multiplayer, you can count me in too :)
