Forgive the cross-post but does anyone know how to extract music from DOOM
levels and insert them into homemade DOOM2 levels?
I LOVE the music from the first 3 levels of DOOM and would like to use the
music from those levels in 3 of my custom WADs
TIA

Use WinTex, available from DOOM Archives via FTP
ftp://3darchives.in-span.net/pub/idgames/
look for wintex50.zip in  /utils/graphics_edit/deutex/.

Or you could use Doomworld's HTTP interface:
