i know using wad author still this day and age i should be shot.

but,  while trying to figure out an issue with development of
teleporters..

i can't get them to work...  is this a typical issue or what is the
assignment i should be using?

i read up on what i could and doesn't seem to be much of anything
about this.

IIRC, in DCK you had to assing a tag value designating the sector-number
in which to be teleported. HTH

Can't help you with Wad Author specifically but this is how
teleporters work :

- Set linedef type to, for example, 97 (WR teleport).

- Orient linedef so that, when the player walks over the
linedef, it's from the RIGHT side of it.

- Insert teleport landing spot (thing type 14).

- Find an unused tag number. Let's call it N.

- Set sector tag of linedef to N.

- Set linedef tag of sector where the teleport landing spot is
 to N.

all a failure since my win 98 and processor are too much for most
programs OR / AND  the programs on the cds i have are incomplete..
missing dll files.

so i gave up and downloaded newb stuff from sites online.. haven't
tried them yet.   just wanted to get back into doom editing for the
hell of it and failed...     how i did all that work with wad it
(waded)  is beyond me.    i must have had another machine with a
slower processor and win 95.    i worked so much and so long on wads i
got levels that have too many visplanes to work well..

now days..  with the old 98 machine i have assigned for the old stuff
none of it wishes to cooperate with me.
:(

let alone the patches i must find for RNRampage,  blood...  ( and
additions )   duke nukem...

... so on...
