I am interested in doing these tutorials about Doom edit:

http://www.3dbuzz.com/vbforum/sv_dl_list.php?c=22

1.) Is Doomedit included in Doom 3? I recently bought a (UK) 'Best of
Activision' budget price copy of Doom 3, but there is no mention of the
editor on the box (I don't want to open the box, as once its opened, I
cannot return it).

2.) UnrealEd can be used to create gaming levels that have very little
to do Unreal (i.e. they don't look like something you would expect to
find in an official Unreal game, for example, a 'fairy pink level').

Does the same apply to the editor Doom 3 (and, in case anybody knows,
does the same apply to the FaryCry, Half-Life 2 and Quake III editors).

Thanks for any help,

Meow ^_^

Doom3 comes with a built-in editor known as D3Radient.  To access it,
type editor in the console or use +editor as a command line option.

As long as you have the necessary textures, you can do whatever you
want with level editors.  If you want to create new monsters, be
prepared to larn the basics about programming and modelling.
