Is there any way to get the origial DOS versions of Doom & Doom II to
run on XP Pro?

Any help would be appreciated.

Load win98.

If you're not on the edge, you're taking up too much space.

Depends on your goals:

If you want to run the actual .exes that originally came with Doom, use
DOSBox: http://dosbox.sf.net/. It emulates a PC running DOS, so it's
technically not really running it under XP, but it does the job. (And as
a bonus it runs about as fast on my P4 as it did on my 486 all those
years ago).

If you're looking to play Doom as close as possible to the .exes (for
old demos, to test compatibility with new levels, or just for the
classic no-bugs-fixed Doom feel) but in Windows, use Chocolate Doom:
http://www.chocolate-doom.org/

If you just want to play Doom, there's several source ports, all with
their own features. See http://www.doomworld.com/classicdoom/ports/ for
more info but I use GZDoom (http://grafzahl.drdteam.org/) a lot these days.
