HMMMMMMM me either :), i had to do a full reformat and reinstall to
get Doom 3 working for me, somthing was stuffed up with my system.
If you have your vidcard fast writes on turn it off also chnage your
agp from 8 to 4 :), that might help.
You never know.

Well, the crashes have corrupted my system so a full reformat and reinstall
is now necessary. This has really p*ssed me off. I bought an XBOX just to
prevent games crashing my system...why i bought another PC game i do not
know!

Cos you can't get PC games on xbox?
Have you tried running chkdsk/scandisk on you drives.
I had a similar problem that turned out to be a HDD developing bad sectors.
