I built the runeword Passion, which gives +1 to Zeal and +1 to Berserk (not
for Paladin resp. Barbarian only) but for any character (in my case Amazon)
that has the right runes and weapon.

See http://www.hanskamp.com/diablo2/RunewordPassion1.jpg.

But when I look at http://www.hanskamp.com/diablo2/RunewordPassion2.jpg, I
have Zeal level 3 (and also Berserk level 3) instead of 1 (resp. 1). After
hitting a Skill Shrine, the levels are 5 resp. 5.

BTW, it is cool to have such a high attack rate (around 92 % to monsters in
Act III Nightmare)... and I like the concept of having granted skills, the
number of "charges" are infinite (in case of Zeal and Berserk but not Heart
of Wolverine, because that is 12) until you unequip the weapon with this
runeword. In that case an existing Heart of Wolverine is distroyed. It is
weird to see my Amazon, my Valk and my merc (rogue) with the Wolverine
"aura"

Are you using vipermagi armor and sigons shield?
Looks like they give +2 to the zeal and berserk skills (prob a bug).

Well... you make me think of it... Yes, I have two items that give in total
+2 to all skills. The armor is Vipermagi, and the (normal) Bone Helm has the
rune word Lore (OrtSol). Then it is not a bug. I have fought with that War
Axe and I did see my Amazon Zealing and Berserking as if she were a Paladin
resp. a Barbarian! And I saw my Valk with the "aura" of the Heart of
Wolverine.

I didn't realize that, when I built the runeword Passion, hee hee.

Do you have ietms that add +all skills? If you have +skills items, it boosts
the granted skills as well. It's been that way with granted skills for
awhile now. If you have a sorc with an orb that adds +3 TStorm, and you have
no points in TStorm, you start with lvl 3 TStorm. But if you're wearing
Lidless, Que Hagen's, Harly Crest, 2 SoJs, and a Mara's, your TStorm will be
at lvl 11. Hit a skill shrine, it will be at lvl 13. Have a barb cast Battle
Command, it will go up another level.

Indeed, you are right, and so is Mark O'Connor. I have the Vipermagi armor
and the runeword Lore in my Bone Helm.

Indeed, a significant skill boost. One of my necromancers has a Wand with +3
to Bone Spear and a Necromancer only shield with +3 to Bone Spear.
