D2 LOD also has a bad framerate in singleplayer. According to Blizzard the
minimumrequirements are :
Windows? 2000*, ME, XP, 95, 98 or NT 4.0 Service Pack 5
Pentium? 233 or equivalent
64 MB RAM
800MB available hard drive space (in addition to original Diablo II
Multiplayer install).
4X CD-ROM drive
DirectXT compatible video card
How about direct X, which version works best ?
Is my PC not powerfull enought ?
I have tried to run the game in 2D, but the result still sucks.
What can I do ??

8 worked fine, but 9 and 9b have worked fine for me as well (at least in
single player).

Plenty powerful enough.

Don't know what difference Windows ME might make (since I still run
98se), but a p2-400 and Geforce3Ti ought to be able to handle the load.
Do you have Full Screen Anti Aliasing (FSAA) and/or Anisotropic
Filtering (AF) turned on?
If so, turn them off or set to application.
This can have an insanely huge impact on performance, since some games
just don't like it at all.
If that's not it then, are their drivers for your motherboard chipset,
and are they installed?
(This can make a HUGE difference to performance, since things will run
without the chipset drivers but badly.)
