Player 8 Command Thought

I was just reading the Blizzard forum posts and noticed a discussion in the
1.10beta area where they are discussing impressions on this patch. One
common area was that a lot of players thought that the current play style
was too easy ? So here is my idea why not alter the way the "/players 8"
command works . For example at the moment it is available in all 3 modes why
not change it so it is available only in Nightmare and Hell modes ,that way
single players won't find the game too hard past Nightmare mode.

Sorry Bill, what you said doesn't make sense.

Hi Paul,

If you read the forum posts then you might have better understanding. But
the point raised is that a lot of players want the game to be harder so the
game would be more enjoyable. Being a SP this game or patch has deliberately
made things more difficult for the SP ,hence MP might be too easy for some
players.

At the moment I have seen the game adjust itself to the difficulty of the
character you are playing ,so why not allow "/players 8" be utilized for
players who feel the game is too easy. This way the SP would not need worry
about MP's forcing issue's on the SP side of the game.

Do you kinda get the picture now?

Not very well expressed, I'm afraid, but I think I get your drift. The
game is harder in single player than multi (realms that is, since P8
and twinking is available in TCP), because items can be transferred.
You're saying allow players 8 on realms but only in nightmare and
hell, but reduce the overall difficulty level? If that's what you're
saying it's not a bad idea, but I haven't heard many people saying
1.10 is too easy, even with twinked up gear. And it would have to be
an option pre-game, not able to be altered in-game.

You could just reduce the difficulty of single player, such as
reducing monster damage by 25% or so, and that would seem a more
direct way of doing it. In the first Diablo, in single player all
monsters had 50% hit points, maybe the simplest solution is best.

The game does have a single player option after all, and to make it so
that it cannot be accomplished without a party, means it is unwinnable
in SP, and this really shouldn't be the case.

At first glance, this would exacerbate the problem though.

Normal would be even easier over all, since the critters would only have
their normal HP, not 8x normal.
On the other hand it would add a great deal of tedium to trying to level
up enough to be able to kill the new supercharged Duriel.

SP has already been f.cked up, lets not screw it up more.
