Wasn't there a guy here called Mickey who claimed to be in possession
and currently "alpha" testing the supposed D3?
The guy who has access to multiple million pounds, is a computer whiz
but apparently didn't have the sense or means with which to take
screenshots?!
What ever happened to this and did anything fruitful ever come out of
the mystery man?

Thanks,

Daniel

Mickey is taking a break from the newsgroup.
Isn't there somekind of nondisclosure agreement for alpha testing a game
like that?

He didn't have a problem posting about it here. He just said that he
can't currently take screenshots of it because...*insert excuse here*
which made it sound rather fishy and attention seeking to me. What do
I know though, right?! I just wanted to see if anyone can confirm that
nowt else ever came from it thus validating my dubious, pessimistic
nature.

You could email and ask him ;-) There might be various ways of telling
something without acting against a nondisclosure.

I'll field this one. Blizzard disabled the print screen key. They also
disabled any access to external programs. Mickey tried 505 ways to get
one screenshot, but it seems Blizzard put more work into preventing
screenshots than they did into preventing duping in D2. In any case,
the alpha test was one dismal failure, the game had so many bugs that
all the reported bugs in all the years of D2/LoD wouldn't have made up
a minor percentage. And it crashed with amazing regularity, something
Mickey said had to do with some form of a universal video driver they
were trying to incorporate into the design.

Try using a high-def digital camera with no flash.

I know a way to get a Screenshot. ;-) Video it. Gives u active screenshots.
;-) Can't disable an external camera. Although with Beta testing of games
like that there is like Anja said usually a nondisclosure agreement. If that
agreement is broken then Lawsuits usually arise.

Yes, that would have work, but the quality would have been horrible,
and as Mickey is known to post here, they would have bagged him for it
instantly. In any case, the entire this was a nightmare, best left
forgotten for quite some time, I would suspect.

I've Beta tested (Alpha tests are usually done in-house only) a lot of
software over the years and in most cases the agreements you sign are
pretty simple.  Things like... you cant make copies for any reason other
than 'backup' recovery,  no installation on any machine other than the
authorized units, no coping of any docuemnts or manuals.   Overall they
just want to keep things under control till they can build the final
release.  How would you to see a copy of a product you were building hit
the street just weeks before you were going to announce yours?   Besides
at least in my case, the compensation for doing good Beta testing ain't
all that bad and having a good reputation gets you more work in the
future.

He is currently away from the group to perfect his ability to magically
change $4000 Fieros into $400000 Ferraris for mass public sale.

So for, THREE different people who have been IN the car have told you
otherwise, and yet you continue to spew this lie. What an EXCELLENT
Nazi you would make.

Mickey claimed a lot of things. It got old after a while.

ah ok. I think I get the "just" of what happened here.

One more thing. Who's the dickhead that's ruining agd with racial
"fuckwitism" about some crap that doesn't belong there?

That's somebody Mickey pissed off in another group (soc.culture.israel
I think, though I've never been to check). That's why we're all here
in AGD2 (we as in former readers of AGD).

To be fair to Mickey, much as I have my reservations about his liberal
use of the term "anti-semitic", the guy in question is just a total
anti-semitic loon. The original flamewar between them must have been
quite a sight.

The Rev is anti-*everybody*, he's one of those trolls that goes for mass
nymshifting, mass crossposting and post flooding. Hates Jews, hates Muslims,
hates Christians, hates Brits, hates Americans... hates everybody! LOL

It was soc.culture.jewish, and there was no flamewar, Mickey killfiled
him on contact. However, Mickey went after another local anti-Semite,
one Alex Seredin, and that started the loon on chasing Mickey around.

Here is a link to part of the story. BTW, this story was posted by a
WELL regarded reporter. Note the reference to his FERARRI !!!!

More proof for that idiot polarpansy to ignore.
