My necro found a nice 3 soc Cuirass last night so I decided to use that Um
rune the NM hellforge dropped me last week. My zon's armor had been a
rare one with 178 def, my brand new Duress runeword now gives me 541 def
with all the great mods besides. I am one happy strafer now. <big grin>
Heh, my only problem now is that she is supposed to be questing with my
cousin, but she is so much fun that I want to play her more often than he
is online.

This is funny. Since I started selling torches on JSP, people often ask what
gear Diego uses. Every single time, the question is "COH, Fort or Enigma?".
And when I say "Neither", they are always shocked. Seems some people just do
not read well. The stats on a Duress are just KILLER.

Nice armor, Art! I also had an UM drop from the NM HF recently for my
freezealot. I built a Duress with it, and it's a heck of an armor. I
got lucky and had a 3-socket armor drop for me in Hell Cold Plains (I
can't remember the name of it, but it's the Elite version of the hard
leather armor). When I saw it laying on the ground in grey letters, I
got a little excited. When I saw that it had 3OS and wasn't ethereal,
I let out a little "HELL YEAH!". It was quite nice to be in the early
stages of hell with a 1257-def Duress.

Duress is probably the best armor in the game available through normal play
(without duped runes)

Yep. Duress and Crescent Moon were two of my best items last ladder when I
played HC. I gave them to Orion when they went off-ladder and he was very
pleased to get the Duress especially. LOL, I also had, and gave him, an
Azurewrath. I didn't get a meelee character to clvl 85 to be able to use it
myself. Found in the maggot lair lvl3 with my only Guardian, a Skellimancer.
My best HC find.

I had my Frenzier to L84 and was on the doorstep to using my Azurewrath,
when I ran into the Lagmonster. It looks like a nice weapon, but the high
level requirements make it a tough weapon to actually use. Particularly for
someone like me who generally doesn't play a character after they've
finished the game.
